The big awards mostly go to the teams in the NC hunt. That is not a complaint or defense, just a statement. LSU has seen our players from the good teams get these awards too.
Now unfortunately, the committee got lazy and did not look at Devin at all. He might have at least been in the conversation. As the previous poster mentioned he led the SEC in tackles all season and set the single season record for SEC DPOW with 4 times... or 25% of the time this season.
But his biggest contribution was that he was the main one that, after the Troy loss, picked this team up by the neck and shook some life into it. He and a couple of other underclassmen called the players only meetings and read the riot act to those not putting out. He led by example and led this team to a 6-1 comeback at the back half of the season and turned this program around.

Roquan may be the guy to win it. I think we’re just saying: no White is a joke. At least consider him.

I don't get why this is even worth the argument. Do Georgia and LSU need a pissing contest over every roster spot?

This is like the 5th of these that starts with "White got screwed" and ends with "well it's absurd he wasn't considered".

Roquan Smith is the best football player to play at UGA since Champ. He is that good. The only travesty here would be anyone who didn’t watch him enough to see that he clearly deserved their #1 vote.

Don’t change directions on me. I never said Roquan didn’t deserve it. I said it’s laughable that White wasn’t particularly at least considered, mentioned, etc.
Congrats to Roquan. Wish I had enough time to watch more than my team play because it sounds like he’s an exciting player. I’ll certainly be watching in the playoffs.

Film doesn’t lie. White is the best tackle helper in the country, though.
