Better question is what did Minkah Fitzpatrick do to win the Bednarik over Roquan. Because it is absolutely nowhere to be found in the stats (even for a DB, Minkah's PBU and INT totals are woefully pedestrian).

You're being obtuse, now. It is not a single factor. What they are saying is that that is probably what kept White from it. You want to focus on one or two things, and leave out everything else.
It is more than having 4 great weeks. It is more than havung a bunch of assists or solo tackles. It is the entire package.
Why do LSU fans insist they have to have the very best everything? You have to have the best RB. The best OLine. The best DLine. DBU. Best LB. Best everything.

Smith would've had a similar number of solo and assured tackles if he played in LSUs defense.
I thought he was overrated until I saw him get a pass deflection. In the end zone. 40 yards downfield. Against a WR1.
Dude deserves any award he gets this year. Devin will get his next year.
