Idiot. How does ESPN have anything to do with the “decline” of the SEC?

It was the portal and NIL. You can’t just stockpile talent sitting on your bench anymore. Kids want to play and aren’t willing to sit 2/3 years to play anymore so nobody has the depth they used to have and hell - even your starters will take a check from another team.

Lack of depth is big, but the development of players seems to be a step behind where it needs to be. All of those highly ranked QBs across the conference and outside of Lagway none of them look like they have a chance at being a NFL starter one day.

Yes you can. It's even easier to stockpile talent now.

What's difficult is developing the talent into elite players because they'd rather be off spending their cash and having fun and just transfer away when pressed.

The SEC was shite before those two losers showed up. You had Bama/GA and the wannabes! You guys are finally smelling the coffee!

This groomer applying the Disney playbook of Deny. Delay. Deflect.

Clearly this was a comment on Disney, your employer, ruining the SEC.

But of course you were the first one to attack a thread calling out your precious Disney.

TRANSLATION: "Now that there's NIL, the hundreds and thousands of dollars & improper benefits that most SEC teams gave their players over the last 30-40 years means nothing now...and that's because academic schools like Michigan can now put money in their players pockets, too..."

You sec hee-haws better start accepting one key fact....now we have a LEVEL playing field, and it's not going away anytime soon! I'm serious, with the exception of the o$u walnuts, our entire conference followed the rules in football. Now, if there's a kid we want down south, you can bet your trailer park asses we can go get him!

It’s coaching. There is Smart and Drinkwitz then there are 14 other clowns.

the root cause is that Nick Saban got old and retired. He raised the standard above all others. Either he was going to win the championship or you beat him and you win the championship.

Kirby's probably the best now but he's not Saban.

Pretty good point

But Disney Gators are the main ones to blame

Wait until this guy finds out who the only team is that's been in the playoffs the last two years.

If that is your definition of causing the conference to decline, then you need to step away from college football.

It takes a colossal level of stupidity to believe that “academic schools like Michigan” just started paying players when NIL hit.

That guy is LSUPhefen's newest alter.

If "brain rot" had a picture in the dictionary, it would be a hyperlink to his posting history.

The root cause is that now every team has an equal opportunity to buy the same player. In the past, only a few teams had untouchable bag men.
