There was NO reason for Saban to call him out to the media.

And it was especially lame to say, "I don't want to name names" while he did it.

It was a bitch move by Saban and I don't blame RH for his reaction and wouldn't blame any current players for questioning Saban's character over this.

I guess if anyone would know about being broke by another team it would be LSU , must sound familiar to you .

If two loses to one team in non consecutive years can break a team just imagine if a team could pull off 8 in a row to a used to be rival , what would happen .......

Everything Saban said was true. Living out your dreams is great and all but leaving a substantial amount of money on the table is stupid.
Say it to Harrison.

Say it to the team when discussing the pros and cons of going pro.

Don't single a guy out to the media.

Harrison makes a decision he felt was best for him.

Saban disagrees because he wants to show future players not to do the same so Bama can keep those great players for another year.

Doesn't sound like Saban really gives a shite about the players. He made his decision, he's playing in the NFL because he decided to. No one can make the decision for him. Saban has probably given this advice to many others before and it backfired.

You guys ignore the fact that there's no guarantee he goes higher if he sticks around. He could have a down year or get injured. He'd actually be more likely to get drafted right where he got drafted and lose out on a year of getting paid and working for "free" for Saban.

frick Saban and Bama fans for their view that players should always stick around another year to help Bama out.

What’s really fricked up is Harrison is already wore down more than most after spending 3 years at Bama. So if he gets hurt early or busts out like most Bama players do then Bama fans and Saban will point and laugh at him and use him as a cauction tale to future prospects to stay at Bama longer

I would love for someone to go back and look at the last 10 years of Bama players getting drafted, ones leaving early versus ones leaving after their senior year (or junior year if redshirted).

Then look at the longevity of those players in the NFL and amounts paid.

I would bet it would show that those leaving early will have longer careers and get paid more in the long run.

I have no love for Saban but this is dumb. How many players has Saban gotten to the NFL by their junior year while at Bama? He’s put tons of players in the league, including a shite load of first and second round guys. He doesn’t need to keep players around when all he does is stockpile retarded amounts of talent every year out of HS... he’s looking at the decision to leave early as a business decision.tbe guy left lots of money on the table because he came out a year too early.

That is impossible to prove. You don't know the circumstances of the season they would be returning to. What if they get less playing time? Get hurt? Etc.

It's easy to scream off a soap box that they would lose out on money, but it hasn't been proven. Of course there are exceptions, but you can't apply it to everyone.

4 year contract for 3,000,000 .

When he could have been making that much per year .

Saban right , again .

I doubt another year in college was going to make Harrison that much better as a leader or in coverage or fix any character concerns.

“Eddie Jackson did all the mental work (in 2016) and Minkah did it all this year. He’ll drop down as the dime guy and cover tight ends and slot receivers. He’s got some athletic ability. He didn’t run well.”

quote:

“No, he’s not smart. Everybody tries to build him up as the guy but he’s not the guy.”

quote:

“He’s one of the most overrated guys at safety to me. He doesn’t really run that well and he doesn’t really do anything special in coverage. He’s a hitter but you can find hitters.” -- AFC Pro Personnel Director

LINK
quote:

Sources say the reason that Harrison slid was character concerns. Leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, contacts from multiple teams said that as a player, Harrison had graded out as a late first- or early second-round pick. However, the character issues were significant, and a lot of teams did not want to bring Harrison into their locker room and work with him. That was the reason why he fell two rounds below his caliber of play.

The Jacksonville Jaguars ended Harrison's fall late in the third round with the 93rd-overall selection. Unless there is a camera around causing him to change his behavior, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone is known to be as one of the biggest jerks and meanest people in the NFL. Thus, Harrison being a surly player probably won't bother Marrone. Harrison also is a very good fit in the Jaguars' defensive scheme. His physical and brash style of play should fit in perfectly with cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye.

This

Tired of Saban crying about something new every year.

He does not give one frick about anything but Bamas record.

He is making himself look as small as he is.

Trey Quinn , mister irrelevant got a 4 year deal worth 2.52 million . Not a lot of guaranteed money but a contract only 480,000 less than Harrison’s .

Harrison is the one gambling . Having to play 3 years into a rookie contract , at a high level , injury free . Just to be able to start negotiating on first round money , 4 years into his pro career .

rather than sticking it out in college another year to hone his craft into potentially getting a bigger signing bonus that’s his actual contract .

That's probably true, as the vast majority of Bama players to leave early are first round draft picks.

What does this have to do with Saban calling out a guy to the media that he should be supporting?
