OP makes no sense. No Bama rivals are mentioned.

Bama and LSU were both undefeated in the SEC when they met in 2019. Had Bama won that game, Bama would have won the SECW and played in ATL.

I’m really going to hate losing the divisions.

No more annual LSU-AU is a travesty.

1. Auburn vs LSU (5 times)
The Auburn-LSU game ultimately decided the West in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2005, and 2007. LSU won 3 of those and represented the West in Atlanta, while Auburn won twice.

2004 as well.

Here's for the East:

Florida/Georgia: 1992, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020

I guess that's really the only long term rivalry between SEC East teams.
Well besides UK/Vols but no one cares about that.

As an Arkansas fan I’ll just point out that Army and Navy used to have good teams also.

With the Playoff going strong the SECCG needs to pair the 2 top teams. This guarantees it. The winner gets a Playoff bye, they need to be the team with the best record.

Alabama won the western division more times than LSU and Auburn combined

Cool. Go start a thread about it as this isn't relevant to the topic.

This is factually incorrect.

There were at least 8-9 times the winner of that game emerges as the leader of the SEC West with 3 weeks to go.

2009= LSU 7-1 vs 8-0 Alabama
2011= LSU 8-0, Alabama 8-0
2012= LSU 7-1, Alabama 8-0
2013= LSU 7-2 (H2H over Aub), Alabama 8-0
2014= LSU 7-2, Alabama 7-1
2015= LSU 7-0, Alabama 7-1
2018= LSU 7-1, Alabama 8-0
2019= LSU 8-0, Alabama 8-0
2022= LSU 6-2, Alabama 7-1

While some of those years during the Miles era, LSU went on to lose a game or two after Bama, this game ultimately decided the West. Its different going to Arkansas knowing you are playing for a West title vs which Florida bowl you go to

Thanks for posting this. Folks need to remember how brutal the SEC West had been.

It’s the most Auburn thing ever that both times the Iron Bowl decided the West, we won… but all three times the game against Arkansas decided the West, we lost

we are the undisputed kings of winning a big game and shitting the bed against an inferior opponent all in the same season. If there were an award for that, we’d win it.
