I'm guessing his net worth has to be around 100 million dollars. Besides owning a house and a lake house, i can't imagine what else a coach can blow 5 or 6 million dollars a year on. Enjoy retirement Gus.

That 2006 Arkansas offense was balling out until Nutt got his feelings hurt that Gus and Mustain were getting all the accolades. So he handcuffed Gus, shut the offense down and rode the RBs to a 3 game losing skid to close out the season.

OK I thought they were a pass happy offense at Springdale, but I will defer to the Arkansas folks who know better.

So our offense was "balling out" by scoring 20 points against Utah State, 21 vs Vandy, 14 vs Southern Cal ??

24 and vs Bama ? Balling out?

Nutt jerked the offense away from Gus at halftime of the Alabama game, and it was a good move because we were able to win the game in the second half.

the Gus Lovers hate that fact.

They were! You are correct on that.

They were pass happy against Ft Smith Southside, and Rogers, and Bentonville, and etc.

Had no bearing on anything related to SEC football.

The lies go deep on this period. Very deep. Malzahn was literally feeding crybaby crap to his buddies who would run and post it on Hogville. True story.

Holy crap I forgot that Arkansas fans were divided on Nutt/Gus back then. Nutt did have a rough exit with his phone records being made public.

Yes sir.

And I'm not taking up for Nutt. I wanted Nutt fired after 2003. But the 2005-06 Nutt/Malzahn crapola was 90% Malzahn being a crybaby and getting his friends to lie on message boards.

I'm just telling the truth.

Gus had a very positive impact on the FSU offense. Passing went from like 180 yards per game to 250. Rushing went from 2.9 per carry to 5.2. Gus probably saved Norvell just as much as the buyout did.

Next season is going to be hilarious.

"retired" Gus will be circling the Hog football program like a vulture, hoping that Silverfield crashes and burns. He already has his minions from the Springdale mafia badmouthing RS. Sad really.

Auburn should have never fired him.

Gus was a true Auburn Man loved Auburn wanted to be at Auburn and they treated him like shite. Typical Auburn

The subsequent Auburn football performance has proven that firing the Gus Bus was a massive mistake.

Yall can’t deny he was an offensive genius. The NFL copied him every week.
