“Austin College in TX educates students in the liberal arts & sciences to prepare them for rewarding careers”
Not sure of your point… but are you aware of the rating on their business college.. geology department.. planII honors program..
regardless of politics and athletic views they are an exceptional academic university.

Austin is a third world country

Austin is known as the San Francisco of the Southwest.

First, Texas will go by UTx. There is already a UT in the SEC.
Second. Went to Austin a couple years ago. I have no idea why people think its the fgn Garden of Eden.

Actually Austin is losing people, big time. Round Rock and San Marcos are seeing large population increases from people fleeing the Austin liberal shithole. To pad the stats…Austin is including cities 20 to 40 miles away as being in the “Austin Metropolitan Area.”

Austin is a shithole. A product of UT liberals and Democratic leftists. Rampant homelessness, street crime and drug usage all over the city especially including the 6th street area. The natural beauty of the city was ruined decades ago by out of state developers. It’s only attractive to California leftists fleeing their shithole state.

I’ve literally lived in nicer 3rd world shitholes than 99% of US blue cities.

lol well nobody’s going to force you to attend austin when your team plays Texas. In all honesty, I think most people will be relieved to have less and less hillbillies from sec towns wanting to visit

You say that like it's a bad thing.

If it wasn’t for those East Tennessee folks Austin would be the capital of the most northern state in Mexico. And Stephen Austin was terrible human being.

Austin is quickly becoming a dump. Homelessness and street beggars are out of control. And it has no culture outside of its music scene and tattoo art. It's mostly about nightclubs and restaurants. And spoiled, rich techies along with spoiled, rich, loonie undergrads spoiling the whole scene and driving up spiraling housing costs. And it's hot as Hades far too often.

Outside of the hot weather, this applies to every major US city.

Austin grew up too quickly and is paying the price. It's lacking the old money older cities have that cares about things like culture. St. Louis, for example, has its problems for sure, mainly in the poorer areas of the city, but it has many thriving ethnic neighborhoods with great clubs, bars and restaurants.
And it has blue bloods who cared enough decades ago to create a free, world-class zoo along with fine, free History, Art and Science Museums.
Add to that Forest Park, among the top 5 urban parks in the nation, which, besides housing the zoo and the 3 museums, also has the outdoor Muni Opera for musicals.
Beyond that, St. Louis also has a world-class botanical garden and research center in the middle of the city created by benefactor Henry Shaw in 1859. It's considered 1 of the 3 top botanical gardens in the world.
And the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is renowned.
Austin has all this new money. But too little of it cares to enrich the city's culture. And it may be too late for that because land is now too precious for anything but more real estate development.

All the Texas fans think this post is for them. Nope...this entire SEC shows their disrespect.
UT = Tennessee Vols.
t.u. = Texas Longhorns
Just wanna clear that up.
I live 20 miles from Austin and avoid it like the plague. More people now moving out than into the City. And it is filled with Californians who are beginning to take over. Time to drop a bomb and start over. Texas fans might be thankful.

Austin has triple the population of St. Louis. Of course it doesn’t have the same problems of a major city like Austin.
