quote:Congrats on winning a playoff game. He still choked when it mattered just like Richt. Other than playing another weak East schedule, nothing points to UGA being any better.
Nope, Au has never even been in a playoff game, much less win one. In fact, very few teams in the nation have won a playoff game.

WTF is it with you Aubbies? Is it THAT difficult to admit UGA is in a better position without CMR?We were one of the worst 10 win teams in CFB in '15.Almost lost to GSU in overtime.
Our recruiting had fallen off the deep end the last half of his career. He proved who he was at Miami. You think any top 15 program would hire the guy?
Such a stupid discussion. The CMR that was fired wasn't the CMR who coached from '01 to '07.He was getting killed on the recruiting trail and was horrible at roster mgt.

Do they give a separate trophy for winning a playoff game or does the Bowl trophy count as a “participation trophy” ?
Its okay if you dont understand what national relevance means. I wouldnt expect you to.

and just little old GA Tech after
You do realize that Auburn has the same record against UGA as Georgia Tech the past decade.
Auburn has the same record the past 10 years against UGA as tennessee. Which is factually the worst decade ever in the history of tennessee football.
The presence of Auburn fans in this thread confirms to me that Georgia is on your mind.
I always appreciate you as the Georgia Tech of the SEC West.

Serious question because I only see Georgia play a couple times a year. Did it seem to y’all that Richt looked tired his last couple years? To me a total outsider he just didn’t look on TV like he didn’t have the fire he use to have. He was never a firey guy but I thought he looked tired

I personally thought the 2012 SECCG loss took a lot out of him. That seemed to be the turning point and he just didn't have it anymore after that game.

I don't know bout that. Our '13 team was on course to be be pretty damn good until the injuries hit and '14 was an unbelievably wierd year.We crushed 4 ranked teams and then lost to unranked SC and UF.
'15 was a culmination of years of bad recruiting and poor roster mgt.
CMR didn't get the best support from McGarity and we were light years behind in support staff and facilities. We were just flat out unprepared for what Saban brought to the table at Bama and I honestly don't think CMR wanted to put the work in like Saban or Meyer.

They would have been pretty solid but would have always been flawed with the defense being so bad.

That was Richt's best team when they were on their game, IMO. What they did to Clemson, Missouri, and Auburn was criminal. Losing a really tight game at South Carolina because of a missed FG was somewhat forgivable. Losing to Florida and GT that year was absolutely inexcusable, though. Richt was not ready for the Florida game and he made some horrendous decisions against GT.

GT was pretty damn good but UF was a train wreck and we came out completely flat especially on defense.

It’s already been stated, but there’s a big difference between a #6 class and a #2 or number #1 class. Especially with how there is a giant chasm growing every year in recruiting in the top 3 and top 5 and then every one else. Also not seeing the data supporting such high recruiting finishes for Richt in 2002 or 2003 but I could be looking in the wrong place. All I see is 9th in 2002 and 9th in 2003.

He was never the same coach after Katharyn was diagnosed with cancer.

They're mad because they know they should have hired Kirby, but instead hired a snake-oil salesman that they now pay 7 mil a year to produce a 4-loss season.

Yes. All of the above.

This exactly. It was hard to tell because he was never an overly emotional coach. But the results speak to his fatigue. The players seemed to go through the motions instead of playing with intensity, and he seemed to have lost his intensity on the recruiting trail. I was surprised when he took the Miami job. It didn't take him long to realize he needed to get out of coaching.
Kirby, on the other hand, is full of intensity. He could burn out too, but it's going to take awhile.

Man, I know we are "rivals" with Auburn, but gracious...I've never seen more off the wall comments about anything and everything. If you say something factual about their football team, that they don't like, immediate anger will be thrown at you. I guess no one studies psychology at Auburn, but it comes across as desperation, denial, and projection formed from fear.

Don't let the majority bring you down. It can usually be associated with a lack of intelligence, which is ironic; seeing as most are "alumni".
