Obvious now that Bama is in a class itself this season. UGA is tier 2. And everyone else is after. Tell me I am wrong.

I agree with the recap that UGA needs better QB play to beat Bama. Would the game have been closer or even a win for UGA if Newman did not opt out?

No shite. No team in america would start their 4th stringer and beat bama

I won't ever predict a win over then until it actually happens again but itd have to have been closer. Bennett did alright in tbe first half but even still missed guys running wide open. It was just as bad in tbe second half but he started pressing and made ridiculous turnovers. I have to think our preseason starter would've given us a chance to put us in tbe 30s

Bama is a juggernaut on offense.

I guess Clemson could keep up.

Injuries could derail any teams chances.

Mac Jones going down would really hamper Alabama.

I agree with that, but OSU did beat bama in the CFP with their 3rd stringer a few years ago. IJS.

The player acquisition and retention needs to be better. Had 2 transfers come in, one is hurt, one opted out, and the former 5 star is now quarterbacking the Buckeyes.

Which isnt the 4th string. Js.

That bama offense was also nothing like this one. Let this weekend's uga play 2014 bama and I'm sure that would be closer as well

What in the world makes you think Daniels or Mathis is a 1st stringer? God knows who the other QB you might be referring to is. This game was over regardless of who you started at QB.

Neither were. I'm going by the depth chart genius.

1 newman- opted out preseason
2 daniels- not cleared medically until like 10 days ago
3- mathis- healthy and started the season and sucked
4- bennett- former walk-on but available
5- beck- true freshman with no spring or summer practice

lol what? A better QB throwing more TD’s and less int’s doesn’t change the game? Ok...

Forgot about Newman but he wasn’t gonna play regardless with the opt out. Other than this game against Bama, Bennett has looked pretty good. Mathis has been trash so idk what they saw in him other than maybe he was a higher ranked player to put him ahead of Bennett. Daniels is the one that’s interesting because he was a highly sought after recruit who didn’t work out at USC. It will be interesting to see if and when he gets some significant snaps.

The game just ran too long. Every game against Alabama just seems to run too damn long. See you in Atlanta.

Losing a starting quarterback would hamper anybody especially in the playoffs. But yes our freshman 5 star back up had no spring snaps and is probably not ready yet. But he has a cannon and would have the best receiving corps to work with.

How do you know that QB X is gonna do all of that good shite?

You sound like LSU fans after that Patrick Peterson PI no call years ago. They’d still have to drive 50 yards to get a TD to change the game.

Don’t go all LSU fan.

Mathis is terrible, Bennett is better than him, UGA may not need Daniels until they play Florida...

Not sure why don’t get this? Poster I replied to said UGA would’ve lost regardless of who played QB. Unless you think Stetson Bennet gave the best performance any QB could’ve possibly had against bama, a better QB changes the outcome. Hell, UGA was winning with average QB play at the half.

Why is Georgia playing its fourth stringer instead of its first? Or second? Or third? Sounds dumb.
