They need to find a way to keep it going.

Multiple overatures have been made by OU to continue the series but Okie State has been non-responsive or said they'll be busy washing their hair for the foreseeable future so OU is moving on.

Translation: They want to take an L off their yearly schedule and are ecstatic to not have to continue the series. Aggies gonna aggie....

Lots of tough rivalry games going away

This is why the East and West differ so much and the debate of 8 or 9 conference games.

Sooners keeping Pokes
Utx keeping Kansas

These add value, not detract from it. Corporate folks making the decisions will wreck it all in the end.

Already cancelled. Damn.

Aggy didn't want any part of that even though App St offered to pay back the $1.5 million for an annual home and home.

OU is just being soft. Yes the SEC schedule is hard but a few of us play tough OOC rivalry games

This one doesn't know what it's talking about either.

Well, let us see - Georgia still plays Georgia Tech, Florida still plays Florida State, USCe still plays Clemson and Kentucky still plays Louisville. And none of the rivals are in the same conference.

It sounds to me like someone got butthurt and does not want to schedule the other team. Same thing with Texas and Texas A&M, Missouri and Kansas.
Just because you are no longer in the same conference does not mean you can't play each other.

Sure it's possible to keep Bedlam football going if the desire is there, but doesn't look like either of the fanbases or administrations wants it all that much. The fans of either school who want to keep it seem to be a small minority from all I've read over the past 14 or so months.

Maybe we'll schedule one every now amd then after the butthurt has worn off a little, or maybe we'll see each other in the expanded playoff occasionally. I'm okay with that.

This whole "mutual" thing is bullshite. OU has made it clear on several occasions that they would play this game. But Okie Lite is still butthurt and wants nothing to do with 17 losses every 20 years. They could change those schedules around if need be, and they could work OU in as an OOC game, they choose not to so they can play Tulsa every year. They could play their scheduled games with Alabama and Arkansas and then switch to OU.

Add Miami to Florida
Add Clemson to Auburn and Georgia
Add North Carolina to South Carolina

Others as well, ACC and SEC formed from the same conference so probably the 2 most intertwined of the Power 5 conferences

This is ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation, OU has not asked for any special treatment and HAS indicated it wanted to continue the rivalry. Okie Lite has made it clear though, that they do not. I get it, 17 losses every 20 years may not be worth any benefits.

The SEC and Big Ten should come to an agreement.

OU and Nebraska play every Thanksgiving weekend.
Missouri and Illinois play every Thanksgiving weekend.
Oklahoma State is forgotten every Thanksgiving, like they apparently want to be.

Agree on Okie Lite, if they want to be irrelevant, fine. Disagree with Nebraska, they are already irrelevant and I don't want OU to be shackled into that game every year. If not Okie Lite who could be relevant, I'd rather OU be able to play P5 schools who they choose.

I would like the series to continue, but I’m not surprised this happened. I think OSU leadership could do more to try and make it happen, but this is a two way street and OU played a role in not getting a deal worked out.

That is an absolute travesty. All these rivalries ending is a total shame. If it’s true OSU doesn’t want to keep it going they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

If OU ever ends up with a constant OOC rival, I would hope it's Nebraska a thousand times over ever playing OSU. Even as far as the Huskers have fallen, that's still a much bigger rivalry than Bedlam could ever be.

But yes, Nebraska needs to get their shite together before we can really be serious about something like that.
