I’ll say what everyone else is thinking… Big 12 board.

And I’m glad we aren’t backing out of games against Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon, etc to accommodate OU.

You guys have 8, probably switching to 9 conference games, that leaves 4 OOCs, 3 when we go to 9 conference games. Of those OOC games, you have to play one 1 P5. If you have a permanent outside rival like SC has Clemson, then that’s the permanent P5 OOC game. It will force OU to play no other P5 unless they are willing to do 10/11 P5 games. You’re not going to get one less SEC game to accommodate, see schools that play rivals already outside the SEC.

It’s not hard to see why it’s dumb saying OU tried to save OSU or tu saved Tech. The SEC told you no, and you’re spinning like you had a choice

OU/OK State is actually a rivalry (albeit not much of one.)

Texas/TTU is not a rivalry. Instead of trips to Lubbock, we will schedule games in California to give our cheese and wine crowd a nice trip and help with recruiting out there.

This makes no sense...who is even saying this? Are you even paying attention?? Let me keep this VERY simple for you, and explain it Aggy style:

OU has openings after 2025, their AD says OU wants to play Okie Lite as a permanent OOC game. Okie Lite AD says, no we are mad because OU left for the SEC, and since they did, we are going to act like we can't work our schedule around to make a permanent non conference game like so many other teams have done BECAUSE we don't want the "L's".

Yeah, I am not happy about this. OU only needs 10 more wins to get to 100 wins in this so called rivalry. The OU athletic director said OSU shows no interest in continuing to play so OU is moving on.

Okie Lite is cutting their own throat with this. The SEC would have cheerfully carved out a rivalry week matchup for that game. They do with the woefully mismatched Ga. Tech vs Georgia game. This a terrible decision on their part.

It didn't even have to be done for Thanksgiving, though that would be nice, in fact even in the b12 this game often gets played in the first or second week of Nov (like this year). I would have liked to continue it, but truly that game has always helped Okie Lite more than OU. I'm happy finding other P5 matchups that could be good matchups.

They are for sure. It's about the only game they sell out for. A lot of their season tickets are bought for this game. OSU makes them buy season tickets in order to get OU tickets. They can't buy them individually.

I hope we replace this rivalry with Arkansas. It is crazy we haven't played much being so close in proximity.

OU is blaming this on OKST, but OU's leaving the Big12 is what caused it.

Yeah, OKST is technically the party not scheduling the out-of-conference game, but which party caused it to be out of conference?

This is really not valid. It comes down to who wants to play it. OU did not leave the B12 to "not play Okie Lite", and the two are not mutually exclusive. You do not have to stay in the B12 to continue a rivalry. OU was willing to make the attempt, but in the end, OSU made it clear they did not value the game enough to make it happen. That is fine, they made a decision in their best interests, but just own it. Say "hey we don't want to play OU anymore because we don't have to", instead of trying to gaslight everyone with the "They left the B12 so obviously they don't want to play us" narrative.

Cry me a river. It's what they do when you leave. Spurned lovers.

You are attributing things to me that I did not assert. I didn't state anything close to saying OU is leaving so it would no longer play OKST.

However, OU leaving IS the reason the series is ending for now.

No. Plenty of teams have got OOC rivals. No need to list them here - already been covered. OU and OSU played for almost 4 decades of that 116 year long rivalry being in different conferences. We've done it before. We could do it again. Many other teams do it now. We said we'd like to carry on doing it. We've tried. Our leaving the conference isn't a valid reason to stop this practictally ancient series and I don't think that's the reason they are doing it. A large percentage of their season tickets are only sold to Sooner fans who want to attend that game. There is nobody else that will ever replace that kind regional fandom, interest, and animosity.

Either they are ending this series out of just plain pettiness and/or they are considering that the possibility of finally winning a conference title and making the CFP is higher without us on the schedule. But then that's just chasing after the same money that they appear to be angry about us chasing after.

This is a very sad (though now rampant) state of affairs, and I really don't like the way these things are killing these historic and spirited, if not always competitive, rivalries.

OU is the reason that the game as we know it, is over once we leave for the much greener pastures. That said, OSU is still a pu$$ for not wanting to give up FCS games to have an OOC Bedlam.

Both schools are trying to play the blame game. Both schools honestly don't want the game. It does zero for OU, and OSU gets to replace an almost auto L for another game.

Alright? Well, start a petition to fricking stay in the Big 12. It's not like we need your charity case anyway.

Let's see how long it takes for you to get to Atlanta, easy to talk shite when you've been playing the Big leftovers for 10 years.

Too late...Missouri is already in the SEC.
