Crosstown Brewery out of Memphis is good. I think they are just beginning to get into Mississippi Market. 1817 out of Okolona, MS is good when you can find it
Diamond Bear in Arkansas is something i drink on the regular too.

Huntsville has some good craft beer establishments as well, from what I understand, but I’m not as familiar with them.

The two biggest/most popular in Huntsville are probably Straight to Ale, and Yellowhammer. I like some beers from both.

We also have:
Old Black Bear (We go to the brewery to eat often)
Rocket Republic (I've had one or two of theirs, but don't remember much about them)
Salty Nut (Never tried)
Innerspace Brewing (Never tried)
Mad Malts (Never tried)
Green Bus (Never tried)

Try Yee Haw's Dunkel. Personal favorite for a dark, nutty brew.

It's not even the best beer brewed in Athens... let alone the state. GTFO

Also, knock on AB if you want, but there's something to be said for their consistency across so many facilities. It's not my jam, but as a brewer myself, I can tell you that degree of consistency over time and volume is fricking impressive.

With that said, they can frick right off with their attempts to monopolize and control the hop varietal market.

Is "Buddha Brewing" supposed to be Funky Buddha? They got bought out by Constellation... if you no-go AB and their subsidiaries, pretty sure you need to no-go other macro purchased brewers as well.

Best brewery in MS IMHO. Could make a good case for top 10-15 in the southeast even.

Buddy is one of the co-owners/founders of Cahaba brewing... I think their Dry Irish Stout seasonal might be one of the best of that type I've ever had that wasn't an import. Also make a great blonde for all day drinking.

Cigar City Brewing from Tampa is surprisingly good.

What's surprising about that? Honest question? I think they're probably one of the top 2-3 brewers in the state of FL. Hunahpu festival is kind of a big deal.

I've been really underwhelmed with all the breweries in Pensacola and the pan handle... I had a couple of ok beers last trip at a little brewpub spot in Navarre but can't remember which brewery put them out.

Scofflaw was hot for a while but has cooled off and is kind of going through a similar phase as CC I think

Accurate... Outside of the POG Basement, I have felt like all of their IPAs and hoppy pale ales (which is the majority of what they focused on) were all "more of same"... They seem to be struggling to figure out what else they can do while still trying to grow their barrel aging program.

Wild Leap is killing it

Right now, they seem to be aggressively trying to win market share... it's working for them for now... I'm interested to see what else they've got beyond a hop bomb, but the alpha abstraction series has been good.

Any in particular worth looking out for?

I've had some of their limited release stuff at bottle shares and it's been delicious, but all of the "always available" has been meh?

I live in Chattanooga now, used to be in Asheville. Nooga’s beer scene has started to take off. Heaven and Ale is solid and just started canning, Odd Story is also making some really good stuff.

For TN, Southern Grist and Bearded Iris win hands down.

In Asheville we pretty much always went to Burial, Eurisko is putting out very good stuff now and I still like Wicked Weed despite ab-InBev. The best brewer in Asheville is Zebulon imo.

Cheers!

I like Terrapin, but there are a lot of other breweries I like better. Creature Comforts, Monday Night, Gate City, Variant, Scofflaw, Reformation, and Burnt Hickory are among my favorites. I've heard good things about Orpheus and Second Self but I've never tried their beer.
Burnt Hickory is run by a buddy of mine. It's a small brewery in Kennesaw. If you like dark beer, he has a graham cracker stout that's awesome.

Perfect Plain puts out great beers. Definitely the best brewery in Pensacola.

As far as the panhandle goes, Tallahassee has two that I really enjoy. Proof, and Ology. Ology might make the best beer in the state. And while proofs cans aren't anything to write home about, some their small batches and beers on tap are A+.

Seconded. The two best breweries in Tennessee IMO. Chattanooga has some decent ones: Oddstory, and Hutton and Smith.
