Oh really? Explain carrying 2 QBs with completely juxtaposed styles and then switching them at halftime
JT Barrett, Cardale Jones and Braxton Miller were the same damn thing
Every heisman-winning QB that returned for another season in the past 20 years has seen a decline in team/statistical performance(Leinart, Tebow{senior season}, Sam Bradford, Manziel, Jameis, Lamar Jackson. Bryce Young, Caleb Williams), ever wonder why?
Do you think they somehow got worse? Or that there was now film out and teams were gunning for them, scheming in the offseason to exploit their weaknesses/defend strengths

Oklahoma will still be favored, and I expect to win the game
Arch couldn’t score against UTEP
All Oklahoma needs is 10 to 14 points to win

OU will still beat Texas with Hawkins. Texas wont score on OU and OU can win with 10 points.
I've got great news for you. You can get as liquid as possible, take everything you have to a legal sportsbook, and secure your financial future by betting huge on the okies over Texas.
Sure, the "experts" will be thinking about how Hawkins looked retarded against Texas last season, throwing the ball away out of bounds on multiple 4th downs. But you know better. Capitalize on your genius.
Put your money on these brilliant okie coaches, who thought it was a great idea to make their QB their entire running game. Sure, this strategy led to Mateer needing surgery after facing his first SEC defense, but they have everything else figured, right?

I’ll use your language:

started inferior qbs(particularly with different skill sets)for close to entire seasons, saving their best/ace in the hole until the time is right to throw off opponents prep.

Arturo makes good points here.
Other than the fact that apparently Mateer got hurt throwing a pass.

This is some dumb shite right here. Cardale Jones was not known as a threat to run until they got into the playoff against Bama. He also had a huge arm compared to the other two. Without his arm, OSU doesn’t beat Bama that year. His legs helped, sure, but that’s because he was the equivalent to Tebow’s size plowing over DBs

Bama literally did it to Georgia’s defense with the same two QBs in b2b seasons, they just flipped how they were used after Georgia adjusted to defend Tua

And how does OU score on our D? Puts up maybe 10-14. I think we can muster that too

You're saying that Arch beating UGA in Athens would compare to one of the greatest upsets in sports history??
Stop being so dramatic

No drama here. I simply asked.. is there a zero chance? We all know it's not zero, regardless of who plays..

They won’t. Whether Texas should be favored is one thing but I bet it’s Texas -3

Why are people still refusing to call it Red River Shootout?
Honestly I'm assuming most people are like me and just haven't been very interested in it. Never been on my radar TBH. Certainly doesn't have any anti 2A connotations. I'll call it the Red River Bloodbath if you like. I kinda like the ring of it.

Mizzou is so obsessed with OU....smh.

After doing a deep dive on backup qbs/hiding things for when it matters, just how sure is everyone that Sark and Arch aren’t sandbagging?
Sark is sandbagging. Both the Texas offense and defense have been extremely vanilla so far this season. Arch wasn't sandbagging, he was in his head. It seems like he got out of it against Sam Houston. While it wasn't great competition he did go 18/21, he wouldn't have done that against air the previous weeks.

The initial, less severe injury, happened in the first quarter. Mateer continued to play and play well. The injury was exacerbated and made more severe when he was hit later in the game while running the ball.

I’d take Michael Hawkins over what arch manning has shown.
This will be a battle between two pretty subpar offenses. However, as of now, I believe OU has less subpar between the two, and is equal on defense.
OU:6 Texas: 2

Man if it was that boring I’d almost rather see OU win 63-14 just to see scoring.
Looks like you will get your wish with Hawkins. It’s going to be low scoring for sure prob first to 20 wins

You must have been too young to be paying attention to football in 2000 because after that game half the state was on suicide watch.
It was a miracle Mack Brown survived losing 5 in a row to OU including giving up over 60 points in the RRS twice and still be around to win a National Championship in 2005.
