It was far from major, but it was a foul. We jump into three points shooters far more than we should.

To "effect the shot" means to bring about or create the shot.

we have so many bitching about the missed call
Zero judgement in that call.
The kid dribbled off his foot and then picked it up and kept dribbling.
There is ZERO excuse to not call that. It has, HAS to be called.

Major contact. Lulz
frick are you talking about? "Major contact" isn't hitting him with a goddamn hammer.

I was screaming when I saw it. I don't know how the ref missed it right in front of him. Again, we had every opportunity to win it and just had a really bad shooting day. We had some good open looks and just couldn't make them. If Doughty and Harper hit their missed FT we win the game. Our guys couldn't close the deal and the kids from UVa could.

That was a very unusual play.
That's what the talking heads said but a double dribble off of the kids foot is not unusual to be called a double dribble.
Its unusual for it not be called.

A still shot only shows an AU player standing there with his hands up. He’s allowed to do that.
Go back and look at the tape, when that frame was captured Auburn's feet were still in the air moving farther into him. It was a clear foul right in front of the ref.

The video is WAY worse than that still shot.

He fouled without a doubt. It was idiotic actually. There is an argument to be made that they didn’t call that all game long (saw it earlier in the game on both teams) and missed a pretty easy double dribble call.

Hate to burst your bubble, but here will be the Monday talking points:
-Virginia's chance at the ultimate redemption (this will be the biggest one)
-Izzo's legacy if MSU wins this game
-Where will Chris Beard be next year if TT wins this game

Refs shouldn't determine the NC

The refs didn’t. The Auburn player that committed the foul did.

If it occurred after he released it then how did it cause him to adjust before he shot?
Jeez.....If you were in the air about to shoot a ball and someone was about to cut your legs out from under you, would it cause you to flinch or adjust your shot? That is why they have the rule that the defender can't slide under where the shooters legs would land. Otherwise no one would take jumpshots because you could cut their legs out just after the shot and it not be a penalty.
