They played Northwestern and Persa last weekend.

and neither purdue or northwestern had a chance in hell to beat penn st. that's like expecting kentucky to beat florida. I thought Illinois was pretty good last week, but, they got beat by Purdue

Illinois is a toss up. Penn St wins by 7-10
Ohio St should be a small favorite.
Wisconsin/Nebraska should blow Penn St out

Scoring offense and redzone defense kind of have a lot to do with each other

Can't disagree. After that though...

your 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters are equal to our first though.

Bama gives up a high % of TDs to FGs in RZ scores allowed and LSU scores a much higher % of TDs to FGs in the RZ (28:6 going into Auburn game). This looks like an easy call, all we have to do is somehow get to the 20 and it's LIGHTS OUT!!!

Should be a battle, though I will go out on a limb and predict it will be much higher scoring than people are anticipating. I think both teams score 24+ in the game with quite a few big plays.

So....how much of that 94% came when the game was already decided?

Alabama hasnt played anyone as good as LSU has played this year. If Bama had played Oregon and West Virgina those stats would be alot closer.

RZ offense and defense stats are the most useless, overrated stats around

We lived in for 5 years with the Mike Shula "Jumbo Package"

As long as a team is scoring points and not allowing points, RZ percentages are not important.

Vandy in fourth in the league in RZ offense, too bad they average almost three touchdowns less per game than Bama. But hey, at least the RZ percentage is good.

OM is third in SEC in RZ defense, while LSU is last. Only problem is that OM is last in the league in points allowed while LSU is second.

RZ O and D are BS.

how old are you??? isn't that a little ironic? You realize how naive and dumb that makes you look? at least say something that makes sense like cajun jambalaya or etoufee' or crawfish. corndogs? really? Do you have any clue where that originated? Pay close attention GUMP.

quote:

First time I heard that I didn't even know it was directed at an LSU fan. Even after it was clear the opposing fan was taking his finger out of his nose long enough to point and compare me to a battered mystery meat log on a stick, it just didn't make any sense. Well, count on your buddy Mike A. Tiger to hunt down the truth of the matter, and it evokes the Forrest Gumpism that "Stupid is as stupid does." So here is the real story of the corn dog reference and how it came to be. And why those Tiger fans who know the history are laughing even harder about it now. About eight years ago there was a "flaming insult" contest on the Internet sports message boards between Iowa and Iowa State fans. Since corn is the state's main agricultural crop and Ames is closer to Des Moines than Iowa City, and the Iowa State Fair takes place in Des Moines, some witty Hawkeye wrote a brief treatise entitled "Why Iowa State Fans Smell Like Corndogs" which became an instant hee haw classic in the region.

quote:

Within a month or two, some enterprising and frustrated Auburn fan looking for an angle picked up on the Iowa piece, changed the title to "Why LSU Fans Smell Like Corndogs," added a few references to Louisiana and posted it on his Faux Tiger Woe Eagle message board. Yuk yuk. Then Bama fans, who pick over the entrails of every Internet scrap left by their rivals, pounced on it. From there it spread to the rest of the SEC. LSU fans smell like corndogs. You can read the Auburn version here, although this Auburn fan site does not tell, as Paul Harvey used to say, "the REST of the story." The original piece was moderately funny and totally appropriate for Iowa humor but has no cultural reference for Louisiana people. I made Baton Rouge my lair for 25 years and Mikey can tellyou the only place he's seen corndogs is at fairs where the traveling carnies set up their wagons. Think about it: Louisiana is world renowned for its food and music, why would anyone prefer frozen corndogs to any of our innumerable food choices?

You know... West Virginia wasn't the only ooc game LSU has played? Oregon is better than Penn State but y'all never mention them. Yall compare yalls win against Penn State with that of WV.

Yeah and Arkansas is your signature win? They barely beat the worst team in the sec. We can continue to split hairs on here, but then again that is why they play them game. Throw out all stats and numbers cause its not gonna matter come Nov. 5th.

And Arky is better than Oregon.

Penn State's Defense equalizes the O of W.V. that's a push.

I doubt Penn State is much better on offense than Northwestern State.

Only three were in garbage time
1 to Oregon with 2 minutes left up 40-20
1 to Kentucky with 6 minutes left up 35-0
1 to Auburn with 5 minutes left up 45-3

Oregon had two in the 4th quarter when trailing by 20. If you want to quibble over what's "garbage time", fine, but I think it's pretty silly to think we couldn't have stopped them if the score had been 23-13 instead of 33-13.

Still even if you only take away those three TDs, it brings our 81 down to 60, comparable to Alabama's 55. And of course, we've played much better offenses than they have.

That's also interesting in that LSU has allowed opponents into their redzone nearly twice as much as Alabama has.

It's also interesting that about 6 of those scores came in mop up time, so you can take that stat and shove it!
