Will be real embarrassing for Bama then when LSU drops 30+ points with that "terrible" offense we have then.

Slow down buddy. As much as I'm enjoying this pissing match with the Gumps, this is just silly.

LSU is 15th nationally in scoring offense

Spread offenses.

I may be wrong, but if Alabama faces a true spread offense (and quick throw QB w/speedy receivers) in a bowl game they might have some issues, but you never know unless it happens. It could be interesting matchup with their personnel and style of defense.

Look at the offenses LSU has faced and the ones Bama has faced. There are your answers.

That's also interesting in that LSU has allowed opponents into their redzone nearly twice as much as Alabama has.

when you are trouncing the other team you try to give experience to younger players. As a result the other team usually scores with a bunch of backup defenders. I think its more of a slap in the face to the other team that they scored on subs but could not muster much against 1st team defense.

I think it's funny this was meant to favor bama but the OP failed to notice that LSU holds their opponents to a FG more of the time.

So LSU forces more turnovers and is better at not giving up a TD in the RZ. Also, not sure what Bama's redzone offense is like but I think LSU has scored a TD 31/39 trips to the RZ.

nvm - found it on the rant

Alabama - 41 RZ trips, 24 TDs and 11 FGs and they rank 46th in the nation in RZ efficiency.

LSU - 39 RZ trips, 31 TDs and 7 FGs and we rank 2nd in the nation in RZ efficiency.

So, not only are we good at forcing FGs, but Bama is much less efficient at scoring TDs once they make it to the RZ.

Chavis' bend but don't break defenses?

This has more to do with opponents scoring on our second and third team defense when games are decided than Chavis' defensive schemes.

maybe we should've scheduled Kent State and North Texas to start the season instead of Oregon and WVU

WVU just got smoked by Syracuse

You played Oregon in week1, while we played Kent State

However, we played Penn State in week 2 when you played... Northwestern State?

Nice attempt to distort the facts though. Just b/c you played your cupcakes on different weekends than we did, doesn't mean you didn't play them just the same

Disagree

If you can't score in the redzone, your team is DOOMED

Oregon: 3 TD, 2 FG in RZ, 80% TD
WVU: 3 TD, 0 FG in RZ, 80% TD

Outside of those 2 blowouts, our defense has given up only 3 RZ TDs and 2 FGs during the rest of the season.

56.27% of RZ possessions resulted in TDs against LSU D. That's stout as frick. Alabama, as a comparison, (playing considerably worse offensive competition) is 55.56%
