It would violate the rules
Way back in the day (possibly before the forward pass was legalized) uniforms had straps on them for this very reason. The ball would be given to a smaller player who would run toward the line. Two of his teammates would grab the assist straps/loops and physically toss him over the line.

If it's a midget in an official MSU pirate costume, the SEC would've allowed it.
As would the rest of us.
SEC football was incredible with him in the mix.

He could be a holder on extra points and field goals. If he bobbles the snap you can kick'em both through the end zone.

Make 'em call it.
"Illegal tossing of the dwarf, 5 yard penalty on the offense, remains 1st down."

What would happen if the defense catches the “little person” in air.. like a bad pass?
still laughing

Nah, you catch him and run the other way. We're making this more complicated that has it to be. We should start a league and call it the Sec Runt.

And after UT's DC wadded it up and threw it in the trash after that 1st quarter, horns pretty much had their way with OU the rest of the game.
Oklahoma's entire '99 season went the same way, the Leach offense confounded everyone for a while as the Sooners led in every game but still lost 5 times.

I miss the Pirate. He was one of a kind. I'm glad MSU gave him a shot in the conference. Rest in peace, Mike.

I remember thinking at the time.. damn, these guys are going to be good once they figure out the defense part.. sure enough, it all came together the next year.. even though Leach went to Tech in the offseason.

The SEC used to be chock full of characters on the sidelines: the Ol' Ball Coach, the Pirate, the Mad Hatter. Even Nick in full curmudgeon mode added color. The conference just isn't as fun without those guys in headsets.

Article 2 - Interfering for or Helping the Ball Carrier or Passer
a. The ball carrier or passer may use their hand or arm to ward off or push opponents.
b. The ball carrier shall not grasp a teammate; and no other teammate shall grasp, pull, or lift the ball carrier to assist in forward progress. (A.R. 9-3-2-I)
c. Teammates of the ball carrier or passer may interfere with opponents by blocking but shall not use interlocked interference by grasping or encircling one another in any manner while contacting an opponent.
They allow rugby scrums going forward now though. Seems like that should violate as well.

Pushing a pile/player is legal.

Interfering for or Helping the Ball Carrier or Passer—ARTICLE 2
Approved Ruling 9-3-2
I. In trying to gain yardage, ball carrier A44 is slowed by defensive players attempting to make the tackle. Back A22 (a) puts his hands on the buttocks of A44 and pushes him forward; (b) pushes the pile of teammates who begin to surround A44; (c) grabs the arm of A44 and tries to pull him
forward for more yardage. RULING: (a) and (b) Legal. It is not a foul to push the ball carrier or the pile. (c) Foul for assisting the runner. Five-yard penalty with three-and-one enforcement.
(Rule 9-3-2-b)

No difference than the Tush Push in my eyes.
One team successfully pulls this off, then the defense will get their own midgets to try and throw them into the offense's midget mid-air.
I have to see this now!

Did you ever as a kid, have someone lay on their backs while you sit on their feet and they sling you into the couch? That would work

lol I have often thought about this on the goal line… the only question is.. would it be allowed? If so, it wouldn’t be allowed for long.. so you’d want to save it for a really important play.
Eddie Gaedel
He was a dwarf who went to bat for a single at-bat in 1951 for the St. Louis Browns (now the Cardinals). It was estimated that if he had used the stance his manager had instructed he would have had a strike zone of approximately 1 1/2 inches.
He walked on 4 straight pitches, and then was replaced with a pinch runner.
There was no rule made afterwards officially banning dwarves from playing Major League Baseball; however, there was a new rule saying all player contracts had to be approved by the Commissioner (ostensibly to prevent another team from doing the same).
