We have a history with texas dating back to our SWC days and we enjoyed that game and consider it a rivalry.
Though some other games have been tried to be fabricated as rivalries none can ever come close to that one. I’m sure mizzou thinks of kansas the same way. No one cares for anything but the win.

that 4-8 team losing to Kansas at home must be absolutely giddy getting to play a breather like Bama before having to run that
gauntlet known as the Big12.

I don't know that you can say " reality setting in" , I mean A&M has an SEC schedule and say what you want but you are gonna find out yourself what a real grind is when you become a member of the greatest conference in the nation. Also,
Texas and that woke Austin city.

Sadly OU will probably go undefeated this year, they are favored in every game.
They will gloat for winning big games at Texas Tech, TCU and Iowa St, then play Bama and the game will be over by half.
Rinse, repeat until they enter the SEC

Your record vs the traditional SEC teams is very misleading since you've played most only a handful of times leading to the aberration that the 2 that have the best record vs you are MSU and Vandy. You have to play teams over a long period to get a feel for the relation between two programs.
You've played two programs more than 10 times:
vs LSU you are 9-8-1
vs Vandy 3-8-1. Because of when you played Vandy you have such a record. Does it mean that Vandy has a better program than you are that Vandy could beat you today?
One would have to be foolish to think that playing a program less than 20 times gives any real indication of their relative strengths, especially of where they are today.
You have a fine program historically - top 10. But the SEC has 4 programs who have been better, in Bama's case much better, than yours for the past 50 years, the last 25 years, and the last 10 years: Alabama, LSU, UGA, UF, with AU being on par with you during those times (the last 10 years you can add A&M who has been better and MSU who has been on par). That's not counting OU who has also been much better than you over those times.
There were times over those periods that the SWC and B12 were on par with the SEC but not usually. It can be an amazing grind especially in the West.
You have a mediocre-to-decent HC who is a good OC, great when he has transcendent players like he did at USC and Alabama. Your intro into the SEC is not going to be what you think.

that one zipped right over your head. not surprising.

Truth22, you have to employ basic cognitive skills to understand. That would include looking at historical data and avoid focusing on a limited set of data designed solely to drive a narrative. Texas is historically a winning program, including against sec competition. Here’s your homework assignment: research and report back on (a) Texas’ record v Ag and Mechanical (now an sec team) and (b) Texas’ record against Alabama (a more relevant inquiry).
Ag and M didn’t “transform” when it joined the sec— again, just judging by the data (add to your assignment a comparison of Ag record v big 12 with Ag record v sec—you know the answer but I bet you won’t say it)

I believe you are making my point. Look at all the data (for example look at Texas’ record v Ala (the current “bell cow” of the sec. Report back. Thanks.

Who finishes with the best record, texas or a&m? I say a&m likely finishes just a head with 7 wins.

You’re a weird guy. You know that Aggy would beat OU by 50 this season, right?
