If they are 5*, Cal will bring them to Kentucky

We have a Final Four appearance. That and 'Nique (Nique was the reason we made that Final Four) are basically the extent of our basketball history.

Dominique went 3rd overall in the '82 NBA draft. Verne Fleming is the reason Hugh made it to Albuquerque in '83 with Phi Slamma Jamma, Lousiville & NCSU.

enjoyed watching Hugh & UGa take down The Nose in the East final

In conference titles, we're tied for second with LSU in overall titles, and second in conference tournament titles.

Problem is a lack of success in the NCAA tournament. 1 Elite 8 appearance, and only 8 trips to the Sweet 16 with 20 trips to the big dance.

So, it depends on the criteria. If you're looking at recent success... we are way down on the list.

Other than Vandy being listed twice, it looks about right to me.

Missouri 1575 wins / .586 win%

We'll be back someday. When...I have no idea. But things are gonna change.

I look forward to having UK look over their shoulder at who's coming. It's gonna happen.

Georgia ranked too high and Vandy a little low. Other than that, pretty good ranking

UF has been a top flight program for 20-25 years, but talking HISTORICALLY, their basketball program was a wasteland before that. They never even made NCAA tourney until 1987.

We didn't give a shite about it when it was a white man's 8 team tournament.

It's Mizzou's fate to be sandwiched in between two programs who dominate them in both conferences of which they have been a member. Kansas then Kentucky. That hasn't changed in 80 years and won't change now.

I ranked UGA where they are just because they made the final four once.

Agreed. Mizzou will be back soon enough. This conference definitely needs a strong Mizzou to help out with SOS. Just waiting on Kim to get the boot.

... and much of that, hundreds of those wins, were while competing in the ACC in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

OP is an adolescent, obviously.

The OP is not an adolescent. I just look at post-season success because I think that's more meaningful.

"because YOU think" is irrelevant according to your subject line.

Your subject line says, "Ranking the SEC School's Basketball Programs HISTORICALLY."

Historically (meaning all time) South Carolina is, at the very least, in the top eight of the SEC as a men's basketball program.

Yes, post season is important, but (historically) it's also about who gets on runs - who is peaking at the right time - who has suffered the fewest injuries - who has had the lucky breaks.

So, given the subjective nature of your criterion and biased ranking system, the subject line of your thread should read, "IMHO Ranking the SEC Schools' Men's Basketball Programs based upon post season results HISTORICALLY."
