2011 and 2012 Bama teams were much better than the 2009 team. Should be obvious. Their 2015 was ranked too low too.

The LSU teams in the list definitely were in the right places.

Florida's 2008 team was neck and neck with 2019 LSU. But I gotta give the nod to LSU in that one.

i guess I'm not all that knowledgeable about the 1992 Alabama team but they seem kind of high considering the dominance we've seen from Saban. I remember being surprised they dominated Miami like they did though.

The offense was terrible that year. The defense is what won the national championship.

in the "national championship game", they put 11 people on the line against a heisman winning QB and a future NFL star WR and dominated them. Teague ran Lamar Thomas down from a good 10 yards back and just took the ball from him. He would also go on to get a pick six later in the game. 1 of 3 interceptions Miami threw that night.

Alabama managed to score a couple of TDs on the ground, after help getting great field position due to the other interceptions mentioned.

Also the defense that won the SECCG.

It's impossible for me to compare those defenses with the defenses of today. It's just not the same. Apples and oranges to me.

Noteworthy to me, is how much the game has changed since 11/12 LSU/Bama. 19 LSU vs 11 Bama. Could 11 Bama's lb's keep up Clyde and co. ? Saban started recruiting slimmer faster lb's soon after. Could 19 LSU's o line prevent 11 Bama d line from pressuring Burrow ? IMO, that would be a game for the ages.

Yes sir. Those care great points. Man that game would be fun to watch!

I think whoever wrote the article was referring to SEC college football teams and left out SEC when writing that quote. Clemson never appeared in the SEC.

People forget that 2019 Alabama with a swiss cheese defense was an onside kick away late from possibly beating LSU. That after being far behind at the half, so they got stops against that offense to get back in the game.

I would take a 100% healthy 2019 team vs LSU to BEAT your GOAT. Senior LB's instead of freshmen, the regular placekicker,LaBryan Ray to get after Burrow and of course an uninjured Tua.

Some of the great Bama teams of the past could match up without a doubt. LSU would not be able to run on them even with Clyde, and they had NFL caliber DB's and not what you faced last year. You had bonafide pass rushers and pro type DLinemen and linebackers.

If you faced a version with a Richardson Ingram or a Lacy and they started pounding away, It might be a long day.

That's why I'll argue till I'm blue in the face that 2012 Alabama was Saban's best championship team.

No. Stop that.

We play the game as it is, regardless of injuries. We're not going to play THAT game, the "if X wasn't injured."

Let Texas engage in that kind of behavior.

Anyone who doesn't put last year's LSU team #1 has severe brain damage.

Alabama managed only one sustained drive that night. Alabama's scoring drives that night began the following way:

- Punt return to the Miami 24-yard line.
- Punt return to the Alabama 48-yard line.
- Interception return to the Miami 31-yard line.
- Interception return to the Miami 20-yard line.
- Pick six.
- Kickoff return to the Alabama 40-yard line.

Coach O's Canes DLine doing work. I think he got arrested after a bar fight in NOLA the night before that game

Alabama rushed for 267 yards that night. We just couldn't punch it in on our first two scoring drives. Both of them ended with field goals from inside the 5-yard line.

2019 LSU was the best team in cfb history. Look at the measurables and who we played and beat so badly. We swept the damn awards and had tons of talent drafted, with plenty more to come in the next few years off of that team. 2019 LSU was just special, and will be remembered and be used as the measuring stick for great teams in the future. Sorry if that makes some of you mad, but they were just that damn good. Period.
