so a handful of coaches, mostly losers, are against this proposed rule change.
your offering this as proof that it is bad is not very convincing. in fact, it's not even remotely convincing.
if that's the best you can do, i would support the rule change.

maybe being fat and out of shape causes injuries. Saban should investigate.

Here's a novel idea. Instead of recruiting and playing 245 pound linebackers, he switches to faster more athletic type LB'ers?
Also, why does only the defense get tired playing against the HUNH? Wouldn't the offense get just as tired?
How about Nicky get his players in shape so they can play a whole game without needing to be subbed for?

I love the "unfair competitive advantage"argument of the Gumps.Lets go there:
What can give a greater unfair advantage than rushing more people than the Offense has blockers" Plus how many QBs have been injured as a result of hits from this.? Its a player safety issue. Ban this crap asap.
Disguising covers? Obviously unfair. Ban it.
The offense has to be set while the defense can move all around. Ban it
Having more 4 and 5 star players than the opponent. Clearly that is an unfair competitive advantage. New rule - you can only play as many 5 star recruits as your opponent does. Same for 4 stars.
For the Gumps, this is called being sarcastic

Saban needs some Gumpalotramin.

Yes sir. Let's not forget you also have those things called timeouts if your teeth are getting kicked in aka your 11 guys can't keep up with their same 11 guys

Let offenses across the country move to a HUNH concept, and the defenses will learn to adapt. They always do.
Doc Hog, you are correct. However the coaches that are complaining about a new offense, need to learn how to be innovative and adapt to change. The two most vocal SEC coaches apparently are too lazy to work on a defense. They attempted to sneak around to a NCAA committee to keep the status quo. Shame on them.
Just a reminder, the forward pass came out in the 1920's and football apparently survived.

What adjective would you use to describe his refusal to accept innovation then? Scared? Arrogant? Sneaky? Whiny?

If I want to watch slow, boring, old fashioned offenses, I'll subscribe to the Big 10 Network. That conference has certainly done well on the national level with that exciting offense. And this is not a slam dunk to be defeated. It is an 11 member committee, not the whole NCAA's & it is a committee with the reputation of being a rubber stamp.

But what is unusual is coaches public reaction after the rules committee passage. Hopefully they will just table it till next year to gather actual data regarding player safety.

They table it, it is done. No way to support the player safety angle in the first place. Gathering data will just prove the committee is stupid.

so since the word would have to come from you:

Scared & Arrogant
seem to work just fine

But, but, but those coaches against the rule are just jealous of Coach Saybun and Curley

Gotta give that one to you. For some reason LSU has had a hard time slowing Ole Miss down, even when LSU won. Not sure why but it is a fact. The interceptions Mett through were awful but Ole Miss muffed a punt late in the game too.
