I come in peace and swear I genuinely am curious how you feel about this expansion. You can add Mizzou and Tenn to the list as well.

I have to imagine your best case goals every year are a 9/10 win season and a SEC championship game every 5-10 years

Now you add UT and OU and IMO you guys are the ones getting screwed because that’s two more tough games potentially added every year.

I feel like all of you are well positioned for the next 3-5 years(maybe not Tenn), but only one team can win the division/pod.

Thoughts?

As long as we can keep ADs with one foot out the door from hiring the Matt Lukes of the world as HC, we will be fine.

That being said, I don’t like the idea of having conference killing Texas or the liberal cornerstone of Austin to the SEC. I can’t quite put my finger on it but it seems like we are about to all get married to a woman that’s been divorced 3 times prior.

My thoughts are that Texas is about to get their shite pushed in on the reg and this is good for both Arkansas and Mizzou. This is bad for A&M and anything bad for A&M is good for Arkansas.

Arkansas faces tougher competition than what Texas and OU brings. So it doesn't change much of anything except Arkansas gets an old rival back on schedule. Which the enthusiasm will bring older fans back to Fayetteville even if it is just one game.

Helps Arkansas geographically big time. We have a long rivalry with Texass so that will be fun.

The big losers in this are OU and A&M. I think the Sooners could struggle and the lure of A&M being in the SEC is toast.

Improves basketball big time too which Hog fans love.

It isn't as good for the Aggies because now they have to share a conference with a rival that is within the state borders. This will probably help OU recruiting a little better now in Texas but they recruit from coast to coast and so I see just a little change from that perspective.

Ou and Arky only played 15 times total. That’s preposterous.

Less worried about the competition because our program has been historically bad regardless. I'd say I'm more concerned with how the SEC seems to be losing that "Southern" feel to it. It almost feels like we're going to start getting away from certain rivalries because of conference expansion. Regardless of the fact that Clemson typically kicks our arse, I'll be done with College Football if they are taken off the South Carolina schedule because of expansion. I don't want to see SEC rivalries get ruined because of it either.

You could argue that. I could argue that the hogs just need to improve period. What isn't debatable is that Texas will struggle in this conference. Struggling in the Big 12 is not the sign you are looking for in dominating SEC competition.

I love it…More entertaining content. And it’s not like we ever made it to Atlanta with 12 or 14 teams. So it can’t hurt.

Ole Miss as a university gets a shite ton of peeps from Texas in enrollment. This may only help that.

The only thing I don’t like about 16 teams is it’s starting to not feel like a conference, more of a league. Just feels too big.

I believe both tried to avoid each other for decades. Arkansas probably thought having Texas on the schedule was tough enough and Oklahoma thought of Arkansas as good enough to be a spoiler and ruin any national title hope. But this was back in 60-80s I believe.

You should be entertained. If the Lane Train can keep it together and he doesn't try to improve his resume elsewhere, in time, Ole Miss has the perfect situation for working their way up the food chain and keep the masses happy in the meantime.

For South Carolina it'll probably have a minimal impact. We don't recruit in either state and assuming there's some kind of shake up with scheduling/permanent cross-division rivals are eliminated there is a good chance we play them like only once every 8-10 years.

Outside of football I don't mind having Texas and Oklahoma on the regular basketball and baseball schedules. That could be fun.

I hope all these coaches stay for a while. Can you imagine Leach returning to Norman or the Lane train with a primetime game in Oxford hosting UT or OU.

How is our situation any different with OU/UT than without them. We are who are are.

Also, every conference has to have teams at the bottom.

Also, this isn't just about football.

We need to prepare ourselves for this.
