You've still got 2-3 years until you are part of the SEC. Are you frustrated with the wait or mainly ok with it? Just curious. The last two expansions were much more timely, so this is a bit of a new situation.

Judging by how OU couldn't even sell their 700 ticket allotment to the national championship this past weekend, they need some time to get their shite together.

This year will be boring, but hey, OU still has a shot at the playoffs, so it doesn't really matter. After that being in the expanded Big 12 will be interesting for a year or two, with same said chance to make the playoffs. It gives Venables time to recruit his people and build his program.

You realize you're going to be a on a 1st year coach your first year in the SEC right?

I guess not, but you should.

It was but I do feel with the 6-0 bowl record two out of the last three years and the fact we keep beating sec teams in the bowl games …. Not to mention the fact that Baylor and OSU seem to be playing elite level defense I think we could actually stay and be good ….

Like playing a bunch of Ole Miss teams

Yeah, it's really hard to get excited about a Big 12 schedule these days but at least it's competitive in basketball & baseball. I'm about 90% sure this is the final season in the Big 12 though.

I'm personally happy about it, our roster was softer than an Aggie in bed with a female. This extra time is giving us a chance to upgrade the roster in a big way, but the defense is still a mess.

No OU I I’ll not be on a 1st year Coach when they join the sec … you can do math correct? He has coached with three different national championship head coaches I think he will be fine !

How does that math work? If OU enters into the SEC in 2024 Venables will be in his 3rd year, if '25 it will be his 4th... Are you suggesting Venables will leave OU??

It’s to each team’s advantage to recruit and build up before entering the conference, an advantage we didn’t have.

I’m sure they won’t find a way to rush it.

Are all Ole Miss fans this annoying?

Over the past 6 seasons, Ole Miss has had 4 losing seasons in football. Come on do better.

I would rather be in the sec now but I guess I’m ok with it for a few years if we have to.

My mind will change real fast when the big 12 refs knee cap us. Unfortunately the scorned conference thing is real

Of course you think he will be fine, you're an Oklahoma fan.

I don't know how well he will do honestly, and that's because he has 0 head coaching experience.

You're hoping for Kirby Smart, but I think you're more likely to get Will Muschamp @ Florida.

You hired a defensive guy because of how bad your defense has been over the past 2 decades I guess. But that's not really the team or culture for Oklahoma.

I would be shocked if it was a smooth transition. I was just glad you removed him from Dabo.

He won't last more than 3 years is what I'm saying.

I thought 25 was when you are entering? If it's 24, then I would expect he should still be in his 3rd year.

Teams like ole miss are being knocked down the pecking order when Texas and Ou join. It’s only natural that you clowns are butt hurt.

If you couldn’t win a championship with 10,12 or 14 teams you damn sure ain’t with 16

It's amazing how many SEC ranters have chimed in about OU (and Texas) falling on their face once they join the conference.

As an OU fan that is the most frustrating thing about the lame duck status... listening to the smack talk for two or three more years.

I'd much rather get in there and start scrapping in order to see what happens.

But suffice it to say. If OU does indeed drop to the middle of the pack in the SEC there will be a lot of "I told you so's".

If OU performs at a high level then nobody will admit that they predicted that OU was going to be mediocre.

And if OU is good (I think they will be from #3-#6) SEC fan will go with "Well, they didn't win the championship".

But if OU were somehow to win the SEC early on...

God have mercy on your souls because Mojo Eraser won't.

Worst decade in program history, everything tastes bad to Horns fans lately.

The moons are starting to realign, new conference will be icing on the cake I hope.
