I still think back at that and smile. Nothing says college like paying someone $20 to "watch your car".

Yea - I started really going to games as a kid in the mid 90s and Legion Field always felt like a throwback place for games. It just felt really sad mostly, especially for the non-Auburn/Tennessee games.
Most of us never had the experiences our parents did there (Iron Bowls, games against USC/Notre Dame/Penn State/Tennessee, etc) so once we started going it was just old and decrepit and not much more. Not really the same when the non-TN/Aub games are Southern Miss, Houston and South Florida.

The guarantee of the annual Iron Bowl may be the only way a new Birmingham stadium could be built.

Then they don't need one.

I would have liked to experience it just once.

I agree

As an Auburn fan, it always felt like an away game with a, while not hostile, unfriendly crowd.
I've never understood this idiocy. The tickets were split 50/50. Were Auburn fans selling their tickets or something? You don't hear Georgia fans bitching about the Cocktail Party and they play it in a completely different state, for God's sake.

If it could truly be 50/50 and neutral it could be interesting. I just don’t think that could ever happen.
Bham being a "Bama town" seems irrelevant. Bham should be close enough to Auburn that Auburn fans would be able to travel and buy tickets with no problem. If Auburn thinks their fans can't make it to Bham or won't be willing to keep their tickets instead of selling them to bama fans, then they have a bigger problem.

Hypothetical--If Birmingham gets a nice stadium that could seat at least 80,000, would you like to move it back to there?
I know it's a hypothetical, but they will not have another 80k seat stadium. Even if by some weird reason they built one, no.

Come to think of it, it was easier to find and buy tickets from scalpers in Bham, than T-town and Auburn. I could get them at a remarkably low mark up, even for the Iron Bowls back in the 90's.

frick that shithole town. No fricking way we ever play in B'ham again

Home, away, neutral. 3 way rotation. I miss the stadium being half and half. It was fantastic.

frick off alter.
the Iron Bowl is NEVER moving back to some bullshite supposedly neutral site. Especially never back to birmingham. if Bama wants to play their home games there fine. But otherwise, the gumps are bringing their asses to Auburn for the arse beating they deserve...

That was MANY years ago because JHS wasnt big enough and TV didnt travel like it does now. Not relevant today and nobody from Auburn is going back to that shite hole.

No because Bham is an Alabama town. Will always be a Bama home game.
That's just stupid. There are more AU fans in the Birmingham metro than any other city in the world. Period.
What' you're really saying is that you think your fans are too shitty to buy half they tickets. If you can't sell 40k tickets to see a game against your biggest rival in the city with your biggest alumni AND sidewalk fan base, that's just pathetic.

I have always said that a 3 city rotation would be best. Everyone wins, Aubarn, Bama, and Birmingham fan bases. It would go JHS, BDS, and then the new Bham dome/retractable roof stadium. Would be really fricking awesome.

No way. The campus games are fricking incredible.
