For a college QB I'm not sure I care much about arm strength at all. If they get a nice yards per pass attempt, I'm not sure if I care at all how they get to that point. It matters a ton for the NFL, but not a whole lot for college.

I’m the only OU fan I know of that sees him as average. 4 to 1 TD to Int ratio and a low 60ish completion percentage.
He’s probably better than Jackson Arnold because he can run better but other than that they’re clones of each other.
On a side note, Jackson Arnold and this guy played each other multiple times in high school and Jackson Arnold’s team won every game, but Arnold was always on a much better team.

That makes too much sense for the common fan to understand.
Here’s how it will go down when Mateer commits.
If to OU: Weak arm, played weak opponents not SEC. Wasted money.
If to another team: OU missed out on the top portal QB, will never be good. Can’t afford a top QB

Our last QB to win a NC had a below average arm. I'll take my chances with good decision making and wheels rather than a rocket arm that can't read a coverage.

The hate isn’t really against Mateer, its against OU. No one wants us to do good so will put down anything related to the program. Just happens to be Mateer for now.
