Why would anyone not put bama #1 as long as saban is coach?

Best team on paper/ returning players.

They will mess it up I’m sure tho.

But for now they should be 1 for Preseason 2021.

LSU returns a lot of players. Those Freshmen now have experience and are now Sophomores. And Brennan should be fully healthy. Was performing like Trask and Jones in his first 3 games.

Bama won't be preseason number 1, they are losing a lot of starters. Bama will probably be 5th, behind OU, Georgia, Ohio St and Clemson.

Maybe they should be 5th but there is no way in hell they will be. It’s called Bama privilege. It will be:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Georgia
5. Ohio State

OU, Ohio St and Clemson are not in the SEC.

I don't see any way we start the season ranked that low, despite losing a bunch.

When you've finished 9 of the last 11 seasons ranked in the Top 4, it's earned

Mac first three games:
1,101 passing yards 10 TDs 1 int

Brennan first thee games:
1,112 11 TDs 3 ints.

Brennan was playing up to those standards

Not saying he was better. But definitely top 3.
Mac Trask Brennan

Mac first three games:
- 220.43 QB Rating
- 1,101 passing yards
- 80% completion
- 8 TDs 1 int
- 13.3 YPA

Brennan first thee games:
- 162.37 QB Rating
- 1,112 passing yards
- 60% completion
- 10 TDs, 3 int
- 8.5 YPA

Mac averaged almost 5 YPA more than Brennan and had a QB Rating 40 points higher.

Brennan was fine, but he was not in the same league as Mac or Trask. He was a volume passer who did a nice job with some explosive plays but was incredibly inefficient and couldn't make a 3rd down to save his life.

Because they are pretty much in the top of the SEC every year despite players leaving and coaching turnover every offseason

They earned it
