Auburn has 5 which is good enough for 6th most all-time nationally, 3rd most in the SEC (behind Bama and Oklahoma).
1942 vs #1 Georgia in Columbus
1994 @ #1 Florida
2001 vs #1 Florida
2013 vs #1 Alabama
2017 vs #1 Alabama
I can think of several wins over #2 ranked teams off the top of my head (‘89 Bama, ‘10 Oregon, ‘17 Georgia). Georgia 2017 was #1 in the Playoff rankings but #2 in the AP.

5th down game was earlier in season so CO wasn’t ranked too high., but it gave them a NC share somehow. No 1985-2005 Mizzou team had a chance of beating a #1 AP or otherwise. Plenty of seasons with multiple top5/10 wins outside of that window.
In 76 we finished at the bottom of the confrence(only ahead of Kansas schools) and had wins over #s 2, 3, 8, 14 and 14. Different times.

* Tied with Texas for 3rd behind Oklahoma with 7 and Bama with 11
8 of Bama's 11 came under Saban
Oklahoma was a Top 10 team before each of the 7 wins
Texas was a Top 10 team before each of the 5 wins
idk why that matters, just thought it was interesting
1950 Texas #7 wins 23-20 vs #1 SMU
1963 Texas #2 wins 28-7 vs #1 Oklahoma
1964 Texas #5 wins 21-17 vs #1 Alabama
2005 Texas #2 wins 41-38 vs #1 USC
2008 Texas #5 wins 45-35 vs #1 Oklahoma

Calling bullshite on that. I’m pretty sure Alabama was #1 when we beat them in 2014

The SEC gets a lot of opportunities to get off the snide. Hugh Freeze must have caught us in between #1s.
You were #1 in the Coach's poll in 2014 but #3 in the AP.

Was that Floria Tebow team not ranked #1?

I think they were #4. Now if you were to compile a list of records against teams that finished #1 we'd probably look pretty good

Oklahoma has been #1 or #2 16 times when we have played since 1954
that's ridiculous!

We've beaten teams that ended up as #1. Who gives a shite about a bad mid season ranking?

What is this number? Since a certain date? Only against SEC teams? Surely Texas hasn't only played 71 ranked teams. Oklahoma has been ranked 40 times all by themselves..
What am I missing? Since 2000 perhaps?

Definitely a few surprises...
I think I'd put Oklahoma State at the top of that list. 0-11, I'd assume a lot were against Oklahoma (the rest being Nebraska).
It's an instate rival, same as the Iron Bowl with Alabama and Auburn. You'd think they'd have gotten 1 at least, just like Auburn has in similar situation.
Vs Nebraska, not so much.
Iowa and Colorado kinda stand out. Nebraska was still a thing when Colorado had their run, and Iowa always tends to be a solid bowl-worthy team (that would play Michigan and Ohio State). In both cases, you'd have thought they'd meet a #1 when they were good, and break through once at least.
I sort of include Pitt in this, but that's assuming #1 would be Penn State back when they were Eastern Independents, and that was a big matchup. If it's against Clemson in the ACC, not so much.
The rest, including Ole Miss and Mizzou, mostly just cannon fodder. Oregon was crap most of their history, and when they finally ascended, USC had fallen off; so no matchups vs #1.
