I spent a summer in Texas west of College Station and I had never experienced summer heat like Texas summer heat. It is in a league of its own.

The heart of campus in my mind.
Academic Plaza and the Military Walk.

This is a picture from when Homer Norton, the aggie head coach in 1939, came back to celebrate they're last championship.

Had some a couple buddies work the Permian Basin one summer and they said the same. Hell of a summer gig though money wise it seemed.

I don't live in Texas for a reason. I loathe the heat these days, which is why I live in the mountains

Of course, the country clubs are nice. Oil money and all. Traditions is nice, but you can't top Miramont.

I am a fan of Sr but that looks a bit bland and institutional
With the hot summers could College Station ever get really green or would the heat just burn it up?
For some odd reason Lexington (home of UK) has like a really high tree count for a Top 100 type city, especially when you think is was all woods back in Indian days and so much was cleared for farming over the past 200 years or so.

It's not wine country or even Fredricksburg, but I always found the vineyards beautiful.

They could be either but pretty sure the one with the red bushes in front is TAMU and the one with the big open space in the middle is Russian as not sure TAMU has advanced their architecture to incorporate such a feature.

The George is excellent too.

I've visited St. Petersburg (Russia) twice and there are literally miles of apartment buildings that look just like this on the outskirts of the city.
