Of course, the country clubs are nice. Oil money and all. Traditions is nice, but you can't top Miramont.
They don’t have golf courses in college station, they’re illegal there. Too many aggys injured their scrotums washing their balls in the ball washers.

The difference in acceptance rates between A&M and LSU is statistically irrelevant. Texas is 6 times bigger than Louisiana and Alabama, so it would makes sense more kids would be applying to go to school at A&M.
But College Station is so crappy. Why would kids want to go there? In other words, the argument is stupid.
College Station is a nice midsize college town with the vibe of a nice suburb. It does not have any slum areas in the city limits. Its infrastructure is in great shape and it is not a cheap place to live. Most of College Station is new and is basically totally dependent on the University for its existence. It is a true college town, unlike BR or Austin that would exist with or without a university in it.

No, that’s a picture right along the final approach course for runway 34 in College Station. I can post the video if you’d prefer.
So what you are saying is that someone knew you were coming.

Guess there's just a lot more smart Texans, than Alabamans or Louisianans.

Kinda weird to mow “gay figgot” in your own yard to insult someone else, but hey - I ain’t gonna tell you how to live your life.

A&M’s acceptance rate is 62% per the Texas Public Higher Education Almanac

That may be higher or lower than Alabama's.
Either way, it's nothing to write home about. State school's gonna state school.

2020/21 data.. ‘21/‘22 was 67%

Acceptance rate is about the dumbest metric to use to evaluate a university, especially a state school.
It could be that a school is super competitive for admissions, and you have to have elite numbers to beat out the competition..... or it could just mean that the school gets a flood of applications from dumbasses every year, and has to reject them all.
The acceptance rate without additional context is meaningless.

For example when I was applying to colleges, Baylor was trying to make itself look more competitive.
So they mailed a "quick app" to me, and everyone I knew who was a senior in high school, with a one page form, pre filled with all my basic info, and a blank signature line.
The instructions said all application fees were waived, and all I had to do was sign the form and return it (in the prepaid envelope they provided), and I would have officually applied to Baylor.
I had no intention of going to Baylor, so I did not do so. But LOTS of kids did.
Guess what? Baylor got "more selective" overnight. Because all of a sudden they had a ton of additional applicants.
They still admitted basically the same size and quality of incoming class they always had, but because of all the extra applications that came in, the percentages made them look more competitive.
It was 100% gaming the system to improve their USNWR ranking, and if I recall, it worked.
