Even Clemson's players acknowledged they (Notre Dame) were a joke and admitted they barely prepped for them - spent the time before the playoffs prepping for Alabama.

Where did you see these statements from Clemson player's? Not saying they didn't make them; I just have not seen them.

I think LSU should be ahead of Georgia. The game last year wasn't even close.

Now do this with both those teams and Florida...

I think what S&P and FPI are saying is that MSU is going to likely be a Top 15 or Top 20 team next year in terms of how good it actually is. But if it happens to play and lose to 4 Top 10 or 12 teams, that doesn't change the fact of how good they are.

Okay. They're still wrong.

1 game last year has nothing to do with where each should be ranked going into 2019.

It's not only about one game. You guys lost 3 games. You lost to Bama, LSU, and Texas. LSU also lost 3 games. Bama, Florida, and Texas A&M. Your best win was Flordia. Ours was Georgia. I'd argue that this is a pretty even record.

Again, Georgia loses more starters and only did slightly better than LSU in recruiting. That certainly matters for 2019. Why did LSU finish 6th at the end of the season and remain the same while Georgia moves back into the top 3? What makes them top 3 compared to LSU? The only reason Georgia does better is because they're in the east.

Florida doesn't get to go ahead of LSU for their win because they had 4 losses. They also finished behind LSU, tied with Georgia. They also do no recruit at the same level and return less than LSU.

I like that two teams we beat are directly in front of us. I could understand LSU possibly, but not Michigan. They got butt raped.

Wait. I'm confused. It's okay for you to say Florida will be in Atlanta, but it's not okay for him to say they won't?

Wasn’t a player a staff member

quote:

Cole Cubelic reported Friday morning that he was told by a staff member at Clemson that the Tigers used the majority of bowl season to prepare for Alabama. The team reportedly only prepared for Notre Dame, its first opponent, for a week.

But someone else said that was false

Okay. I was going to go along with the other Georgia posters and make a case for Georgia, too. Then I read your entire post and felt you made some legitimate points and understood where you were coming from. We might not agree with you, but at least you are using a reasonable thought process.

HOWEVER, the quoted narrative should stop. I mean, you are aware that the east had a better head to head record against the west last year, right? Take Alabama off the table and it only gets worse.

This means that USC won the national title in 2003. Can't have it both ways.

Or it could turn out just the opposite. We will never know.

LSU never should have been ahead of uga to begin with due to less wins. They weren’t ahead of uga in the playoff poll. Uga 5th, LSU 11th.

I think, given SC’s schedule, that’s probably just fine with most of us.

32nd is probably about right. Hope to do better but this schedule this year with the youth we have ... it’s going to be a battle.

So half of the top ten is SEC?

Brutal.

Not sure why Texas should be higher, 12 seems about right for them. Dont understand all the places having them like #8 or so. They are literally replacing almost their entire defense.

While we technically lose a couple of important starters on defense, your post is misleading. The general consensus is that our defense will be better, if anything, based off of our experienced and highly rated underclassmen. Lots of the positions- defensive line, linebacker, CB were committee approached last year. We also have two of the best safeties in college football back.

But you will find out soon enough if our defense is for real. See y’all in Austin.
