I think we are too high but I can’t quite grasp why A&M is so high. Wtf have they done? Besides losing to MSU yet again....and yet again begin the season ranked inside the top 15.
What? When has A&M started in the top 15? Here are pre and post season rankings since joining the SEC:
2018 - NR -> 16
2017 - NR -> NR
2016 - NR -> NR
2015 - NR -> NR
2014 - 21 -> NR
2013 - 7 -> 18
2012 - NR -> 5
So two seasons over ranked and two under ranked. Sounds more like you have an A&M inferiority complex.

A lot of the reason for their ranking is their high position in the computer polls.
Stupid computers. I'm not sure what metrics the programmers even use this time of year?
Stat's best possible finish is 7-5. Okay, 8-4 is possible, but highly unlikely. They won't be in anyone's final Top 25. But, hey, Thanks, Dan!!

We return 3 starters on the OL this year?

ND and Texas should be higher
ND?
WHY?
They played no one and skirted into the playoffs. Even Clemson's players acknowledged they were a joke and admitted they barely prepped for them - spent the time before the playoffs prepping for Alabama.
ND 2018 was ND 2012 part 2.

State's win total over/under is 8 in Vegas. Go put your money where your mouth is.

Clemson won't be the same team they were last year. They do not have the personnel on defense to replace the caliber of players who were drafted in the NFL. The offense will be good as long as the starting rb stays healthy. After him there is no depth at rb.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how it shakes out for the most part, though. Obviously there are always surprise teams that are hard to account for this far out.

I think Florida's going to surprise some people this year.

I think those advanced statistics computer rankings are not necessarily trying to predict wins/losses, its really about how good a team actually is.
For example, if MSU is 8-4 with losses to Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, and Auburn, they are most definitely going to finish behind an 11-1 UCF.... however, which team is actually the higher quality team? Wins and losses don't tell you that.
I think what S&P and FPI are saying is that MSU is going to likely be a Top 15 or Top 20 team next year in terms of how good it actually is. But if it happens to play and lose to 4 Top 10 or 12 teams, that doesn't change the fact of how good they are.... it just means they played a tougher schedule.

Why? They will lose @LSU, vs UGA, and one of AUB, @USC, @MIZZ

very impressive after losing the players they did from the draft.
Only if they finish that high or above. Depth charts are considered, but work done in the previous season absolutely influences these polls.

I think LSU should be ahead of Georgia. The game last year wasn't even close. LSU returns more starters. Georgia does have a slight edge in recruiting (#2 class vs number #5). On a neutral field, I think LSU would win again. I'm not sure Georgia will be top 3 all season. But both teams have the chance if the win the games they should.
It will be interesting to compare games down the stretch. Both teams get A&M at home. They both play Florida and Auburn, but LSU gets those at home. Of course, LSU obviously has the harder schedule with Bama in Tuscaloosa. Georgia will likely play Bama in the SEC championship, though.

1 game last year has nothing to do with where each should be ranked going into 2019.
