During my son’s high school football seasons I had the privilege of serving as the team photographer. I spent his football career on the sidelines from pregame warmup to the final whistle. Over the course of a typical game I’d take something like 1,200 pictures. That may sound like a lot but if you set your camera on sport mode it’s not hard to do. After the game I’d come home, sort the pictures down to around 200-300 that I’d upload to FB on the team boosters page. Fans loved it because in addition capturing key moments and players, I always made sure I also got pictures of the kids who never had the opportunity to get in the game. The hardest thing was not focusing on my own son every play. I did get plenty of pictures of him though that I’ve saved to this day. Here are a few of my favorites.

Not the picture I wanted, this one shows Charles Johnson's "second" effort after he was down... on 5th down! His shoulders hit the ground first - and the ball was clutched tight to the number 4 on his chest. This was taken after he arched his back and extended the ball over the goal line.

It is a good thing for Tua that this sort of thing only happened 100 more times over the next five years.
