And if if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas.
If Texas wasn't the douchebags they are, neither A&M nor Texas nor Missouri would be here.

Should've never expanded the first time in 92. Could have a 9 game setup where everyone plays each other by now, but no.

That is the only way the SEC could pad it's stats back then. Claiming multiple SEC champions, having conference teams meet up in bowl games and some teams playing more OOC (SWC) games than SEC conference games (LSU)
The SEC system was a joke before 92'.

And Nebraska would still be in the Big 12 along with Colorado. Pac 10 stays at 10 and the Big 10 continues trying to get Notre Dame.
fricking Texas

Yeah, that whole conference championship thing worked out horribly for the conference. SEC was killing it before expansion.

I doubt he actually thinks that. But it is a very quick way to rustle 4 fanbases' jimmies
Right, because a 10 team SEC that still had Alabama/AU/UF/UG/LSU/UT would absolutely suck without Arkansas/UM/USC/TAMU.

The only reason aTm was added was the Texas TV market. Let's be honest...If there was one opening in the SEC and it was between aTm and Texas, and Texas wasn't the douche bags they are, who do you think would get the invite? Don't kid yourself.
Let me ask you a question: Are you retarded?
Where in my post is there anything that could be even unreasonably read to aver that TAMU would be a more valuable addition than Texas?
The issue is whether TAMU has diluted the SEC. It's not why TAMU was added or whether it was the best possible addition.

Yea they should have never allowed Arkansas and Missouri in.
It's laughable seeing A&M fans talk shite about Arky. Arky owns A&M ALLTIME. It's not even close.

They don't seem to be able to absorb this...

After a&m becomes irrelevant again, thamel is probably correct

And TAMU fans acting like Texas wouldn't have been invited first if they'd been willing to play by the rules.

Yeah, the joke--it doesn't work.
I need you to do better.

I mean what were you SEC Big 6 oracles thinking? Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992 and and it took them 19 years to win 11 games in the conference. We did it in one.
The funny thing about this is that Arkansas was invited for it's prestige. In contrast, A&M was denied, until the SEC decided to go after TV markets. So, congrats on having larger TV markets!

The conference wouldn't suck, but the additional revenue from the conference championship game and additional media inventory certainly helped.
It will help again with this new expansion.
SEC media revenues would still be pretty high, but they'd have to really work to try to rival the other two big conferences. Hell, just look what the Pac 10 did in a captive market just to try to get some of that expansion money.

Actually it has more to do with a lady called Anne Richards back in 1992.

What is really hard for some of you to absorb, is Texas would never be willing to play by the rules. They are who they are.
Not that it matters or you care, but alot of you LSU fans are douches.
And I say that reluctantly beings I vacation in Louisiana and have a love affair with Nola and The Quarter. Bama fans have nothing on you, so don't kid yourselves.

Cool (re: Arkansas prestige). It def made sense at the time for y'all to make the jump--I was envious as hell, when we were stuck where we were.
And I'm fine with having a large TV market. Whatever works.
Bottom-line for me: We were able to get the hell outta Dodge.
