Fun fact, the state of Missouri goes farther south than Fayetteville, Arkansas!

Another fun fact.

Fayetteville, Arkansas is south of Nashville, Tennessee.

It's about the Benji's and the SEC office loves Arkansas, as they should.

I'm not sure you understand how this whole business thing actually works.

Great find!

I remember looking at that thinking.. "So, we are going Euro soccer style.. hmm.."
Five teams can claim weather advantage in November. Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Missouri.

People forget Fayetteville is south of Nashville but has a higher elevation.

Fayetteville is unique because the jetstream is battling just above us which arttic air is either being pushed down from the Midwest or warm air up from Texas.

It's basically why Dallas and Fayetteville get a lot of the same temperature and weather, year round, with slight changes because of the elevation in Fayetteville compared to the entire rest of the state.
We are correcting massive design flaws over decades of additions and completely rebuilding the Broyles complex.

The good days

The poor days when SEC teams meet in bowl games padding their stats which included multiple champions who never played each other or half the conference.

If the Big12 was progressive, which it certainly wasn't, things could've been a whole lot different if Texas, Texas A&M, OU and Nebraska had come to Arkansas and LSU with a Big12 network and loads of cash and massive tv deals in huge markets.

It would be very hard to debate OU-LSU, OU-Arkansas, Texas-A&M-Texas, OU-Nebraska, LSU-Nebraska, Texas-Arkansas, LSU-Texas A&M, LSU-Arkansas, the combinations are endless of must see games in huge markets. Hell, throw in Memphis as the cupcake of the Southwest with this $1 Billion FedEx potential and things would've been a whole lot different.

It would certainly could have surpassed the SEC but we will never know. Money talks now just as Texas A&M left all rivalries behind to keep two in tact with Arkansas and LSU by joining the SEC. None of that happened, and today, I highly doubt anyone is leaving the SEC because the B12 is playing catching up instead of blazing new trails.

However, with enough money and power relationships things do change but the changes are still slim.

It sucks they put Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas on the bottle but could not find anywhere to put little ol arkansas

"The vodka is made with corn from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma."

It looks like Fort Smith bottled otherwise Arkansas wouldn't even be included on the list. Nor should it be with those company of states.

Well this sucks. I would've loved the competition between schools.

Oh, the deal Arkansas WAS going to sign with the Dallas Cowboys. :banghead:

No other SEC team would've had a deal like ours.

I appreciate the effort, but $300,000 is just embarrassing

“These additional funds build on a scholarship budget allocated to the Academic Scholarship Office for Arkansas students of more than $9.4 million. I want every student in every county of this state to know that we believe in their dreams and want to partner with them.”
U of A Offers Additional $300,000 in Scholarships to Arkansas Students
quote:

The University of Arkansas is awarding an additional $300,000 in new scholarships to incoming freshmen from Arkansas in an effort to increase access and affordability for in-state students.

U of A Chancellor Joseph Steinmetz authorized the increased funding to help make attending the U of A more affordable for Arkansas students.

I want every student in every county of this state to know that we believe in their dreams and want to partner with them.”

The additional U of A support has already made a difference: 33 percent more incoming in-state freshmen have accepted scholarships compared to this time last year.

recruitment and counseling positions in eastern Arkansas to help inform interested students about the U of A and prepare them to enter the university environment. These positions are part of a concerted effort to improve the university’s ability to reach and serve underrepresented communities.

The University of Arkansas currently has 10 recruiters who work in the state. The additional staff will ensure that U of A representatives can visit every high school in the state every year and can provide both academic and financial counseling.

This is a good start Chancellor Dr. Steinmetz! How we didn't have recruitments targeting each high school prior is very disappointing. I'm glad this has been addressed and will help grow the Arkansas student body.

If I were raking each job on overall attractiveness I would have it:

1. UF
2. UGA
3. Alabama
4. LSU
5. UT
6. aTM
7. Auburn
8. Arkansas
9. OM
10. USCe
11. MSU
12. Missouri
13. UK
14. Vandy

Great List but flip Missouri and MSU.

1. UF - So much talent and close to Georgia.
2. UGA - NFL talent everywhere and only has Tech to compete against.
3. Alabama - Prestige puts Bama over LSU.
4. LSU - Full of in-state Talent.
5. UT - Lack's talent but prestige places UT here with proximity to Georgia
6. aTM - Texas Talent, simple.
7. Auburn - Divides the state with Bama but close to Georgia
8. Arkansas - Only game in state with twice the money and support as Ole Miss.
9. OM - Splits the talent with MSU
10. USCe - Splits the talent with Clemson
11. Missouri - Only game in state with proximity to Illinois (Should move up)
12. MSU - Splits talent with Ole Miss with little resources
13. UK - Worst talent recruiting state in the SEC. (Should recruit Ohio better)
14. Vandy - Private School (Should look at the Stanford model)

If you look at this list in order of BCS Bowls, SEC Championship Games etc. It stacks up pretty nicely almost in order.
You want to bring in a rivalry that has massive potential..

Arkansas vs. Oklahoma.

Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, LSU and Oklahoma rotating between each other, goodness. Pure fun.

You forgot losing to Michigan & Tom Brady in a great game for the 1999 Citrus Bowl.

I forgot how many big games we have played in compared to Ole Miss, nice job.

We've heard about Texas A&M's potential and resources for over hundred years. It still hasn't stopped Arkansas from dominating the all time record.

If they get the right guy it will be a first and maybe, just maybe, probability will allow them to approach UGA's status of comepetting for championships but still underachieving. It's the Aggie way, you'd think an LSU fan would understand considering you have the second most history with them, behind Arkansas.
