Tennessee Alabama is the fakest rivalry in sports. One side clings onto it hoping time winds back to the 90s while another is the prominent brand in college sports.

The only fans that claim Florida Auburn is a rivalry is Auburn hoping to escape Alabama and LSU by defecting to the East just to lose to Florida and Georgia every year.

Bruh, you're a State fan. You have to dig pretty deep to find any "rivals" State is .500 or better against: Kentucky (.500, and your State bro OP wants to end this rivalry) and Southern Miss (.516 against the ultimate Little Bro school).

If you did have friends, how old are they? Because I can ask every single one of my friends who are Florida grads...maybe 10 of them who actually graduated from UF in the 90s and they will say you are full of shite.

My dad is an older Auburn fan and always mentions Auburn-Florida as the binned rivalry he misses the most. To this day, he still dislikes Florida more than UGA. He also mentions Georgia Tech too, but Tech isn't what it used to be, and if that rivalry still existed, it probably would have lost its luster like UGA-Tech has.
Georgia Tech leaving the SEC has to be one of the worst decisions ever made by any athletic department ever.

I vote to swap Auburn with Tennessee across Divisions and make their crossover rivalry Vandy. Then make A&M crossover with UGA and Ole Miss with USCe.

Permanent cross division matchups make more sense than permanent same division matchups.
UGA vs Auburn is infinitely more important than UGA versus any of the following:
Missouri
Vandy
Kentucky
Tennessee
South Carolina

Well none of the idiots that would call you a friend would have any experience with that rivalry, so maybe that explains it. It is very much a rivalry for those of us who lived through the classic 90s and early 2000s matchups.
I can't explain ones in the 60s. Maybe they don't follow football. We played every year.

Thanks brother. The downvotes are likely because I insulted the classic Tennessee/Bama rivalry. People need to realize it is no longer a rivalry. I understand Bama has become a juggernaut and kicked just about everyone's arse since the late aughts but the primetime matchup for this is now moot. It's more so that Tennessee is just awful and there is no sign they're coming back. They're on take 5 now and they already hate their new hire.
The permanent cross division matchups are boring for everyone. No one likes having to play their respective opponent every single year just because the teams are non-big six leftovers.
