Pedo st is in limbo for a while more….. the pedo scandal was a huuuge setback….. They fired a good coach that got them to what is most likely their ceiling untill the pedo scandal ages out …. I think it. Takes a generation for the pedo scandal to age out so another 8 to 10 years..

You can name 9 SEC schools you would take over them?
A&M fans are the last lot that should question the legitimacy of the Penn State job.
They are nearly mirror images . . . .excessively large land grant schools with enormous alumni bases and huge sums to spend. Both schools have extremely rabid fans bought into a somewhat peculiar campus culture to outsiders.
The only difference really is the student culture and Penn State is located in a much prettier college town with a much more attractive campus.
Penn State's football history is 10x the A&M record both historically and recently.
The Lions have finished in the top 10 5 times in the last 10 years under Franklin with a #4 finish just last year. They also recruit really well.
A&M fans can't have big league aspirations while trying to diss Penn State.

Pedo State hasn't been relevant since the 90s for the most part. The child abuse scandal still haunts and casts a dark shadow over that school and fanbase
It's called "The Sandusky Curse" up there and it's a real thing.
I'm in Pittsburgh twice a year with the wife, who's home office is up there, and there are charms and voodoo dolls in the PSU leaning sports bars trying to ward off the evil juju.
The Pitt Panther leaning sports bars are on the other end of the spectrum about it.

Embarrassed? I showed you that no matter the criteria, you are wrong. Move the goalposts wherever you want, I win, you lose.

State College is literally in the middle of nowhere though. It's well over 2 hours to a real airport or city. Penn State also hasn't shown the same willingness to spend on NIL and facilities that A&M has. They have history but almost all of it that was significant success was from prior to being in the B1G. They have won 1 B1G Title game and haven't won a Natty since 1986. Definitely more than A&M but they have always seemed like a program in gradual decline that is overshadowed by Ohio State and Michigan. The decline of football in Western Pennsylvania is also significant, they just don't have the recruiting grounds they once did.
I do agree the schools share a lot in common culturally but A&M has significantly more resources and a higher ceiling.

I have nothing to be embarrassed about as I provided accurate information in response to a spurious claim.
Have a lovely evening. We're done.

Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia is a nice place although winter is cold.
Pedo State is a top 10 job. Should be very attractive since you are not following a legend with the legend still having an office on campus like DeBoer is.
The should have enormous resources for NIL. It is a real school, not one of these Ivy League DEI shitholes.

It’s in the top 15, probably top 12
They have a shitload of money, one of the best home field advantages, decent recruiting grounds, and play in a conference that gets committee respect but where most games they should still have a big talent advantage

Compared to LSU, it’s a joke. it’s also only in wrestling (12), Men’s Gymnastics (3) lmao and Women’s volleyball (7). Only one other in fencing. I don’t count individual ones, only team champions.
Only Mizzou and Oklahoma have wrestling teams in the SEC. I don’t even know of any men’s gymnastics teams outside of Big10 and the former PAC12 as they make up the majority
Even then, LSU has baseball (4), football (3), women’s basketball (1), men’s golf (1), women’s gymnastics (1), men’s indoor t&f (2), women’s indoor t&f (3), men’s outdoor t&f (2), women’s outdoor t&f (3).
Across all athletics LSU has them beat hands down of the sports both teams play (and most every other school their size plays).
Of the sports they play in common, LSU has them beat 20 to 7.
That’s apples to apples.
Next time, do your own homework
Does not Penn State have 2 football National Titles? Should have had the 1994 one too as they played a tougher conference.

Don't disagree with that except they aren't putting the money into NIL and they don't have the resources we do. I wouldn't call it a Top 10 job either, not in the current environment. Close to it though. Penn State doesn't invest in football the way SEC schools do, they are more focused on using the football to help the other aspects of the school. I also think you can't underestimate the slow death of Western Pennsylvania HS football. When Penn State was winning Nattys it was as strong as any area of the country, that just isn't the case anymore due to demographic shifts. Philly has never been a big football area. If you look at Ohio State and Michigan they get a ton of National talent to go there and they spend big to get it.
I like Penn State a lot. I've been there for a game and I know a lot of alumni. It's just CFB is in transition and schools have to really decide they want to step up if they want to compete. Penn State seems to be stuck in some old school thinking and is adjusting slowly and trying to live off past glory. They may get it figured out but they need a mindset change to do it.

Most of you simply can’t look past your team or conference. Yes, the SEC has been dominant. But it hasn’t been for 2 years and it’s clear when you watch the games that the talent and depth is way down in the traditional powers while the mid level teams have increased dramatically (except South Carolina).
And NIL is literally still an infant. Schools are still figuring out their system. And a place like Penn State has plenty of money once they get it going. While you guys are busy throwing money at every new hot shot coach others are working on the long game. You guys better pray that UGA wins the Natty because if the BIG wins it for a 3rd year in a row then you’ll see more and more southern players taking their NIL north. The SEC has the large fanbases but they don’t have all the money.

We were talking this century. If it was last century, Penn St has many more in some other sports.
But so does LSU, including boxing
Last century, Penn State definitely has LSU beat. But they’ve fallen off big time since then

You are equating Penn State criticism with the entire B1G. Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, and USC all are investing. Penn State not as much, yet.

The BIG is Ohio State and Michigan conference. Always has been. Nebraska and PSU are mid majors now that occasionally have a good season.
