It’s not the number of penalties, it’s the timing and questionability of them that helps Alabama. The refs and Birmingham office have a clever scam going, don’t call too many penalties on Bama opponents so they can point to these stats. But complete a long pass or get in FG range for the go ahead kick and guarantee they call holding or Offensive PI to change the game. Gotta protect their pride and joy from embarrassment

Lol. I knew if I tried hard enough I find you two going at it again today. All this makes me want to retire to Alabama so I can have a front row seat for this rivalry.

coachcrisp is the stereotypical redneck. You can whip his arse, but you are going to have to whip his arse every day. If you have every watched the movie "My Cousin Vinny" you remember the dumbass rednecks in the poolroom, that is coachcrisp and his buddy jimdog:

Not long ago UGA vs UF in Jax drew 25 total personal foul calls.

I see you got the GIFs already in motion, SkyKing.
Do you realize how many different characters and descriptions of characters that you attribute to jimdog and me? You really do spend a lot of time fixated on all facets of us....I guess everybody needs a role model, huh?

It is the penalties that are not called against certain teams that have fans upset.

But not upset to, ya know, actually do anything about it

Don't bring facts into this.

Yep, those stats certainly tell the whole story huh? Just like another poster said, it doesn't take into account penalties not called.

You guys should really learn how to critically think.

Good example is Auburn would have been in the National Championship game if the refs would've called Virginia on the travel at the end of the game. That call would've won us the game. So, yeah... no calls contribute to the outcome as well wouldn't you say?

Again, learn to critically think. You people sound way to simple minded.

Why doesnt MSU AD, and also a MSU alum, John Cohen do anything to stop it? Is he part of the conspiracy? Does he just not care and is he OK with MSU losing to Bama for 11 straight years?

You fit so many stereotypical redneck characters in literature, history and cinema, it is hard to choose from.

Georgia's penalty yard margin (against SEC) was +20 yards in both 2017 and 2018. Interestingly, UGA's SEC opponents had the least penalty ypg of any team in the league for both years (and near the bottom for the 2015 and 2016 seasons), while UGA had more penalty ypg assessed against them in league play than all but two (2017) and three (2018) SEC teams.

Kudos to all those teams over multiple years running who've been on their best behavior against UGA.

Well Bama lead the nation in LEAST penalties and LEAST penalty yardage called against "opponents" for like 4 of 5 years through 2017. So being only like third most screwed in the SEC in getting the short end of that stick is and was a great improvement in 2018. I understand officials throwing Bama's opponent a bone from time to time to keep the other school's fans engaged but at some point losing the penalty game to your opponents and or turnovers will get you.

But it also appears that the least talented teams get the calls and the more talented don't (Look at the top 4 in both instances). Two other things I would have correctly predicted is THE U of Florida's general thuggery (symptom of so many Florida kids) would place them high in penalties and AU's "HOME FIELD" advantage showing up in among those with least number of penalties. Even for an overall top six talent school.

You can go back to 1992 and we are still going to be on top of this list. And it is deserved.

But in league head to head play you've still fared better (opponent ypg) than UGA for 4 years straight, 2015 - 2018.

coach that was a low blow to hang around anyone's neck. Calling me out as a role model for anyone. Sky is just somewhat unstable on a sports board. Probably a good ole boy in real life. Just saw the movie "Rocketman". And excusing the general flaggotry and sucketry and lame Limy and Hollyweird behavior I can recall some of those party scenes in the 80's. In far too much town for a bunch of Georgie transplants.

"BENNY and the JET" indeed! Difference being we were generally on Long Necks and brown liquor but who could tell the difference. And I've heard you may be carrying a couple of scars from before you became a gentleman of letters. Being more of a late bloomer my marks are fresher. LOL!
