I'm more concerned about Wommack's play calling on defense. If he doesn't mix it up in the secondary and figure out a way to apply pressure, Vandy could dominate time of possession again and limit Bama's opportunities on offense. Then every possession becomes critical. I agree though that Simpson is much better equipped to handle that kind of pressure than Milroe was.

Oh I know. A guy I went to high school with is now a baseball head coach at a D-1 school and he's told me all about it. He said it's turned into a mess. The players literally have so much leverage the coach is no longer in any sort of authoritative position. You raise your voice and pi$$ them off, they transfer.

All going to come down to ball control, if Vandy controls the clock with Diego and their rush attack (2nd best in the SEC btw) and actually scores points (as opposed to Georgia), they win. If Bama controls tempo with Ty and the passing attack and doesn't turn the ball over (keeping Vandy's offense off the field), they win. Really simple strategy given what we know about these teams so far.

Pavia has earned the right to talk shite.
These old schoolers have no idea how good this kid is. He will bite us all in the arse if you can't get him contained. We have Bama the following week, so I hope Bama & Vandy wear each other out.....

They are going to do the exact same thing they did last year until Alabama stops it. And from what Georgia did on the ground that is concerning.

TBH and I didn't account for y'all struggling against viable rush attacks thus far this season, quarterbacks like Pavia, Tommy C, JJ McCarthy, Jackson Arnold, Jayden Daniels, etc have always been thorns in the Alabama defense's side because it takes away a defender from lining up in the box and honing in totally on the conventional run game. I think Ty playing mistake-free ball control football and crisp with his passes and the home field will be enough to prevail in this game. IE those methodical TD drives like the first drive of the season against FSU and the first two Bama drives of the UGA game. Would I be surprised with any outcome? Probably not but I believe what I just stated would constitute the difference in the game should Alabama win.

Doesn't Vandy just copy Florida State's offensive gameplan? If the OL executes, they have the personnel to replicate it

Last year’s Alabama team was solely dependent on which version of Milroe showed up. If bad Milroe showed up, Alabama lost. Unfortunately LSU and Auburn got good Milroe.

Milroe went 18-24 for 320 total yards 2 TD's and Bama scored 35 points. You really blaming him for that loss?

This dumbass is on the fast track to being a Johnny Manziel type without the hardware. Imagine being 25 and talking shite while playing mostly 18-20 year olds.

Milroe threw a tipped pick-6, but he didn’t lose that game. The defense lost it. Milroe lost the Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Michigan games though.

He also lost a fumble inside the Vandy 40 with Bama driving for a fourth-quarter score that would have given them the lead.
The loss wasn’t just on the defense either. It was a total team effort.

By that same logic, wouldn't it be that if Bama plays their game it wouldn't be close either assuming talent wins out?
No. The next thing to do is to coach the team to their ability.

Any time you score over 30 points on Vandy, it’s on the defense if you lose. I witnessed it firsthand. Even Malachi knew how bad they were. There weren’t many games where Milroe didn’t turn the ball over. Agree to disagree, but Roll Tide anyway.

Im sure that comment will haunt him in the Canadian Football League for years to come.

I would never underestimate Jerry Kill and Tim Beck..those 2 are Vandy's secret, I'd hire both of them in a heartbeat
