Update on the Pac-12: Pac-12 coaches and ADs got a sobering medical perspective from a group of Pac-12 doctors last night. Source called it “eye opening” and the information on myocarditis “made it real.”

The doctors also expressed concern about proximity that comes with full-contact practice. “It’s all in the presidents’ hands,” said a source.

Sometimes people (or conferences) know the outcome they have wanted all along and just need to find a way to sell it. This risk is not a new discovery.

Are the presidents and ADs truly complete retards?

Viruses and myocarditis has been known forever, and specifically covid-19 and myocarditis has been known since the beginning as well

Apparently it was news to a lot of people before this past weekend. Because several journalists wrote about it.

It’s something to consider, but it is also caused by the common cold too. Fear is just rampant.

These conferences are making it clear that they have no interest in playing football. If they aren’t interested I’m not interested. So frick it.

You can just sense that myocarditis will be their main play here.

Legit concern or Don Quixote tilting at windmills?

Legit concern
It is a legit thing in rare cases of covid-19 and other viruses

Their own articles these media members are posting talk about how rare it is, and they talk about how it exists with the common cold

However, they dont put that in their tweet title......

Might as well shut down athletic departments if this causes a cancellation. The virus will be around in some form for the rest of our lives. Likely significantly less prevalent and with better treatment, but still around.

The chances of an athlete getting covid and then getting myocarditis will exist for the next ten years at least, maybe forever. Just shut down college sports

Cool so now they are going to do the old school Democrat/Liberal move and say they are just smarter and know better for everyone. While us bumpkins just hang to our God, Guns and Football.

Pussies.

Pac12 just really don’t like football but needed money and were embarrassed not to play it.

Good grief. They're rolling out the myocarditis?

Even if that was a legit concern (it's not) what proof do they have that football creates additional risk?

These players could just as easily get it from friends, family members, or anyone they come in contact with in life.

You mean the yahoo sports writer? That's all you need to know. So now college football has turned into a political issue. If you are for playing, you must be a republican, against you are a Democrat. This country has gone to shite and I blame the press. 20 years ago those reporters that were out right lying about the big 10 vote yesterday would be fired, now they get a free pass.

Season doesn't start for over a month, let's see what the numbers tell us as we get to within a week or two. If colleges are having students back on campus this week, we should know by mid September if the season is really feasible. Why cancel now when you don't have the data to back it up?

This is a 100% fear mongering from people with an agenda.

Is there evidence that COVID increases risk of myocarditis versus other common pathways?

Or is their argument simply that the possibility exists (at a similar rarity)?

CTE is worse than contagious. You get it from the very act of playing football
