Before all do this happened I really feared the pac-12 of would be done first. They get payed the worst of all conference in revenue . The big 12 was 3rd. No one comes to football games out west . Atleast the big 12 games average about 50k for the rest of the schools minus Kansas. If I know the pac-12 being full of themselves but to me they are the most vulnerable because no one gives them any credence for wins against other pac-12 schools.

Perfect match . PAC 12 fans don't travel and the big 12 offers plenty of places no one wants to travel.

Technically WVU brings more to the SEC than ACC.. at least as far as TV markets go. ACC already has Pitt. If the SEC somehow and for some reason added WVU it would add the Pittsburgh market and maybe some Ohio, etc. But if we go past 16 I imagine we push for VT and a NC school assuming we don't want FSU and Clemson. Perhaps VT and NC State considering you can't break up UNC/Duke.. but that would also depend on what number the SEC wants to settle on.

This is true, but they don't bring enough to the table to even warrant a discussion. I believe the AAC would take them, and they would be a cultural fit with Cincinnati, UCF, USF, and East Carolina.

My guess is that this is the next step in the Texas strategy. They’re making it look like the SEC is almost a done deal so they can try to squeeze a better offer out of the PAC 12. Texas is the only Big 12 team that makes financial sense for the PAC 12.

I’m imagining West Virginia is about to get the call-up to the ACC, maybe alongside Notre Dame.

Good for the B12 schools.
They only need to find something temporary, as the whole shebang is going to implode in the next few years anyway.
They’ll enjoy not having that proverbial fly in the soup.

I wouldn't take all of them. I'd only want Baylor, Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma State. Even then, the PAC 12 has a very ominous future.

The PAC 12 has shown zero interest in adding religious schools but maybe they've changed their tune.
Baylor is probably a non starter

Kansas and CO State are looking very good for a merger

Maybe even a Fresno State, Boise would be a great fit, but would have to seriously improve academics

I could see a few schools in Cali get rid of football completely in a few years.

Why do people keep putting Baylor and TCU in the Pac?

The last thing the Pac 12 needs or wants are a pair of religious affiliated private schools with small fan bases.

Can't be any worse than being in a non-power conference. Big XII trying to maintain their P5 status is the best thing for the majority of these schools that don't have a home in another power conference regardless of regionality or time zones.

If I were WV I would be on the phone with ACC or SEC. I think Okie State and WV would be prime pickings for the SEC.

If TV market is the big issue, the ACC would be smart to go after TCU, Baylor and and maybe Oklahoma State to gain a footprint into the Texas media market. The advantage of having east coast time zone kickoffs would be appealing. The league could end divisional play and just select two best teams to play in the league title.

They don't bring ratings. They have a tiny fan bases.
