It’s embarrassing that a school with so much tradition and rich history has a fricken Landshark as a mascot because of some average football player putting up a fin when making a tackle in a meaningless LSU/Ole miss game. I mean RIP but they went way too far with that. It’s like if LSU got rid of Mike the Tiger for a big walking “L” because Coach O holds up the “L” when he takes a pic with recruits.

He can. And I will use the phrase "jew him down" or its derivative as many times as I can today in his honor.
Imagine being so insecure.

Hell that's worse than I thought..I thought it was simply "good old Mississippi...:. Should have known it had something to do with traumatizing people to the point where they admire their captors....

What is wrong with you people in Mississippi??? If this is true why on earth have you not already insisted that Ole Miss be banned from the lips of people associated with the States flagship education institution??? That is truly amazing that you can possibly be this deaf...which probably means you just don't care...

Upon further review, not only should they change mascot... they should rebrand the problem. Henceforth, let the program formerly known as "Ole Piss" now be known as "New Piss".

Yankees are a plague. They are more destructive to the culture of the American South than any other group on Earth.

Yep
quote:

The Ole Miss football team was previously known as "The Flood." In the 1930's, the school voted on changing the name to the Rebels. A close second was the "Ole Massas."  (This was in line with the school's nickname, Ole Miss, which is the slave term for the wife of a plantation owner.)

Why not just combine the Mississippi schools? No one outside the SEC can tell them apart anyway.

We can't because other schools used it to negativity recruit against us. As soon as we got rid of Colonel Reb [and started egregiously paying players] our talent skyrocketed

Fixed it for you.

That said, "From Dixie with Love" is iconic and I miss it.

I've wondered about that too: single Mississippi school would be a national power. The state is too small for two P5 programs

Oops meant P5. Easy to forget about USM though they've been gutted by conference alignment it it seems
