That would make him 72. What do the ranters think?

My dad is 78 and probably out works Saban and has only recently thought of selling his business, but not for "at least 5 years and [I] would still have to stay on for another year or two".

Ms Terry will be the reason he retires and thats about it.

Been saying this all along.

She wears the pants in the family. When she tells him it's time, he'll hang it up, no matter how many years are left on his deal.

Unfortunately, unless she develops some kind of serious health problem, I don't expect her to say that for at least another 3 or 4 years.

I thought is was common knowledge that a Sith Lord has found a way to conquer even death. He is never leaving.

I can see him doing some ESPN broadcasting when he is done. To be honest, I don't really know how many more years he wants to coach.

The REC probably developed something to make sure he doesn't.

He's got a psychological disorder that prevents this.

If he stays healthy he could easily coach as long as Bill Snyder. Bill is 77 and going strong.

Oh and his hair is darker this year than last, so obviously he's growing younger!

As an lsu fan with the red arse that he's doing as incredibly great as I thought he would when paired up bama, AND, knowing it's going to be a struggle for lsu to beat them while he's there, it'd be nice to see him finish out that contract without winning another championship, even at the expense of L14U happening.

You're better than me, I couldn't stand losing to Alabama 5 times in a row much less 6 to 14. I wouldn't enjoy them winning another natty, but us being their only loss while they win a natty would ease the pain.

No idea, but I just don't see him being content sitting on the pier at the lake unless he or his wife are having health problems. Even when he takes his summer vacation to the lake, he's always working. ESPN guys come and interview him, and he's working on preseason practice. He seems like the type that will work until it's no longer an option.

The man has nothing in his life but football. He will die from a stroke on the field yelling at an official. No way he ever retires.

You say that like all the other coaches are living these fulfilling activity-filled lives.

I think a minority of coaches are as obsessed as Saban. Most seem to like to actually see their grandchildren and spend their money in their 70s.
