Regardless of what people thought about Cale he could of been a head coach several times but he loved the university. He was the offensive cordinator for the bowl game and we had the highest point total of the year.

Pretty simple - don’t read the N word out loud? I assume he has some sort of disability if he’s not able to do that? Either that or he’s just extremely stupid if he thought that would go over well.

That’s not at what I was saying. But if you’re worried players are going to be upset about what a coach said or recruits might not come to OU, you might decide to make a change.

I’m not saying that’s the way it should work, but you’re working with 18-22 year olds and a lot of potential negative recruiting.

Again, it looks like the vast majority of players wanted him to stay. I’m just saying you have to at least consider that if they didnt.

The moral outrage from a few of you is beautiful irony, coming from SEC schools. Been to a lot of SEC games and heard the word used with abandon in the stands from white folk. They weren’t reading off an iPad. 99 percent of the stands would be empty if they cancelled everyone that’s used the word in jest. Or singing a song on the radio. “But, but I didn’t say it in front of black people.”

What a joke. Down vote because you’re secretly racist, because you’ve said it too.

He made a mistake he owned up to his mistakes but because of all the cancel culture and people who run things get so nervous someone might get there little feelings hurt for making one mistake… he resigned. Imo no one should say the damn word… the player didn’t get in trouble for writing it … only word I know of that only one race can say it and it be okay . shite needs to change

Oooooooh please. Act like you’ve never heard it in the stands. We ALL know that’s bogus. I remember being shocked at UF, then LSU, then Miss State. Then I was like, oh, ok, this is what they do. It doesn’t mean anyone hates black people, it means the word is used a lot more often around town than on a damn iPad on a video session.

I’m Japanese, know how many of my friends used the word “jap” around me and I didn’t lose my mind? My grandmother was in a camp less than 100 years ago, state sanctioned. We move on and don’t hold the sins of people we never knew against them. Relatable?

I attended every Bama home game for the better part of 30 years and have been to games at 13 of 14 SEC stadiums and have never, not once, ever heard that word used by a white person at those venues. Not once.

You are full of shite, and you chose a really awful full of shite story to prove your point.

I’ve heard Southerners say some unbelievable and detestable shite about minorities , but after being at surely over 150 lsu games home and road I’ve never heard the word thrown around in the stands. I completely agree with Tuscaloosa that this post smells like bullshite.

Never been to an Alabama game, I don’t know if that gets thrown around there. Definitely been to an LSU game where it was tossed around by a very enthusiastic white dude in front of me by about three rows. He wasn’t using it derogatorily, but it was said over and over and over again pertaining to JaMarcus Russell.

You’re all acting like this is purely hate filled language, it’s not. Most often it’s been a term of culture like in a rap video. But it’s said a lot. By white people. It wasn’t read off an iPad.

That’s the point.

What's the difference in this guy saying it and folks who say it on rap songs?

Have to agree with you. I’m an Ole Miss guy who is 51 and have been going to Ole Miss games my entire life. I’ve never heard that word used in the stadium. I have seen opposing fans and players of a school make that accusation. It’s called losers limp.

If the coach should leave for reading a player’s words aloud then the player should go as well. A word shouldn’t have different meanings depending on the sender. I wouldn’t have quit. Screw them. Make them fire me. What is obvious is the guy was pressured to quit by the higher ups. Ours schools and country are being run by imbeciles. But it could just be the old man in me.

No. You, for whatever reason, thought it was a good move to drop a N-bomb in a room full of black guys and are now “horrified” at how stupid you look. No way a grown arse man “doesn’t realize what he’s reading” aloud to a room full of people.

For the record, I’m completely against cancel culture. But if any of us walked into a meeting at work tomorrow and dropped the n-bomb in front of everyone we are getting fired immediately.

The scoop is he asked a player to take notes and when he didn’t he went to look at his phone and read what was on his phone outloud. It contained things he should not of said and it was racist I think . All the black players in the room told him it was okay. Two different stories is he reigned because he felt t was best for the team . Someone else said it was reported to the university and even though the team told him it was okay since it wasn’t something he wrote the university told him to resign. Who really knows but he was a fan fav coach and played there in the 80s. Brent seemed dejected for OUs media day he must of knwon for a week.

This sounds about right. It’s the white liberal school administrators that are the issue.
