Venables was going to be extended a year ago. They were in talks but the then AD decided to retire. So they put this off on purpose to let the new AD be involved and decide and thats why its just now being decided.

Gonna be a great game so many storylines too.
Edit to add. We would never have a marque game like this in B12, just RRS and thats it. Love all these big games in SEC. Win or lose its just awesome football!

You are pretty dense. They know what happened that year. Here’s just one example from a game that season
Your fanbase has been bragging about their recent wins vs OU and not once has BV had a decently healthy team or QB. One year we used a TE as QB.
