You clearly really like OU and hate Texas A&M. But that doesn't change the facts.
I don't really care about either, those are just the facts. A&M is a little bro, and OU is a national brand. A&M had flash in the pan success with Johnny Football and moving to a new conference on their own, and are now coming back to reality.
OU has a much better chance of joining the SEC than alot of schools.

Michigan, Penn State, and Tennessee have the largest stadiums in college football with a combined 6 national championships compared to Owen Field's 85,000 strong and OU's 7 national championships.
Does the size of the stadium really matter?

If the SEC would expand to include OU and WVU we'd have a monopoly on all the poor, stupid states in the USA! Woo!

Unlike others, I like and cheer for Ou in most circumstances. Some of the ou posters on the rant are just idiots though, but 1 or 2 are just whorns in disguise and are easy to pick out.
But I don't think there is any way y'all break free from OSU and get out of the GOR

We are midwestern. People who say we are southern are just kidding themselves. Except for the bootheel(Very Southeastern portion of the state), those people are southern.

Oklahoma may be considered the south by the census bureau, but it isn't "southern." It is a "plains" state, which makes it part of the Midwest along with Missouri.
Now, I know most of you are about to say that Texas isn't "southern" either, and if you lived in west Texas that would be true. Texas is so big that it overlaps three distinct regions. East of I-35 and north of I-37 is just as Southern as any place. South of I-37 is Mexico. West of 35 is the West, and the Panhandle is The Plains. Most of Eastern Texas was originally settled by the Scotch-Irish moving west from Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi. Then the Germans and Czechs came (bringing good beer and sausage with them). And we were part of the Confederacy, that by itself makes us "Southern."
Oklahoma brings none of the cultural goodness with it to the league, unless you like 3.2% beer.

A&M has won three bowl games over Bdf conference teams since joining the SEC.
Have you forgotten the Cotton Bowl beatdown of blowu already.
We can't keep you off this board, but you will NEVER be in the SEC.
Texas A&M is a cash cow for the SEC and Sankey ain't gonna piss off his cash cow by trying to get blowu an invitation.

He's just posturing. Oklahoma and OSU and Texas are an inseparable 3. It's why they aren't in the SEC already.

Isn't that what they said about Texas and A&M?

You don't understand what the situation was at all.
The problem was Baylor which was worried about not having a landing spot if the conference broke up. They threatened to sue the SEC.
There was ONE Legislator who began making noises about trying to block the move. After getting feedback from his constituents that he would be committing political suicide, he stfu.
Unlike Oklahoma, the decision makers at Texas A&M and tu are two entirely different groups of people who despise each other.

agreed.
beaumont is about as southern a town as they come.
Houston a melting pot of everything. but the non-immigrants are not that different form what you see in the greater south.
the biggest argument against your opinion is the fact that there are alot of people east of 35 that refer to themselves as Texans and not southerners. the people make the place imo. Texas thumb their nose at almost everything.

OU will do whatever Texas tells them to do. If they were going to do anything different, they pissed away every opportunity.

I understand what you are saying.
Let me put it in terms of sweet tea, white gravy, and coke. In the "south", the first two are a staple in every cafe or home cooked meal. And when you ask someone if they want a "coke" and they say "yes", you then ask them "what kind?" This is the ultimate smell test and Texas passes it with flying colors.
Texans will always be Texans first. It is because we were our own country. And if it weren't for the southerners that moved here in the 1830's, that would have never happened. So, that's pretty damn "southern" if you ask me, even if we are an independent people. (And that too, is an extremely southern trait.)
I agree, El Paso ain't the South. But Houston is.

I agree. I had to go to Branson one time for a convention. Flew into Springfield.
That area felt like an extension of Arkansas to me. If Arkansas is the South, then I think Southern Missouri is as well.
Now St. Louis and Kansas City are certainly more Midwestern.
