Their offensive line is a mess. Any QB would be struggling there.
I think an announcer said they were on the 7th configuration of starters in 8 games. That is a recipe for failure.

Oklahoma was an attractive destination when they were one of the few programs who had high level coordinated cheating and were paying players a great deal of money. Now that everyone can pay players, why would you want to have money in your pocket and be in Norman, Oklahoma.

They wanted to join the club. Good luck to them.

New Nebraska?
Or do they figure it out?
Came from a conference they were competing for titles in every year. During a slight down season in talent. Just couldn't rebound in SEC like they could in old league.
It WILL happen to OU.

This isn’t a flame. I honestly think OU could be in trouble for a couple of years to come. BV is not the answer.
I mean otherwise they’d just make the playoffs and get blown out against the first SEC team they played every time
The SEC has an OU and Texas problem.
The worst fricking 2 additions ever. Might as well have added Nebraska and Kansas. shite we already have Missouri let’s take the entire fricking big 12

I’m talking long term. 7-5 8-4 team in the conference.
NIL and the portal make things for just about any team a total crap shoot year to year...throw a few more bucks to a player and boom, they're on the opposition next season and a dozen other similar instances....I think we're seeing it now with the greater degree of parity in the SEC , which some may have misidentified as the conference being 'down'...

Feels weird having an aggy tell them this. Pretty sure they have owned you guys through the years.

Oklahoma will be fine.
They'll retool and adjust given time.
The SEC is not kind to programs, no matter their tradition, when major injury bugs hit and Coordinators hiccup.
It's going to be tougher to sustain big success in this league given NIL and transfer portals. Now we're going to have to contend with 105 man scholly rosters starting next year.
Oklahoma will still have their seasons, just not as frequently. But the same could be said about the entire conference going forward.
The thing about this league is that there will always be a half dozen playoff contenders.
One thing this league ABSOLUTELY MUST do is find a more equitable way to schedule. Texas' first year schedule is bullshite no matter how you slice it. Totally unacceptable.

You do realize all the starting WR’s are out? Along with starting o-line. You idiots don’t know what you’re talking about.
They got injured playing real football. Common in the sec. Gotta have a decent second string here.....

Won't win another SEC game.

Not really. They lead the series 19-12. Not an enormous margin.
Winless against us since we joined the SEC. Thus the thread titled.

in big12, they always had 10-20x the talent of anyone not named tejas.
now, in sec, they will be a middler with talent, will get poached by bigger fish, and they have zero in state talent who breaks top 200 hs kids.
they done as a power, only thing saving nubs, is there are a lot more cripples in the big10, than in sec.

+1..we may already be seeing the effects as in more parity to the conference , which some may have misidentified as the conference being 'down'..

SEC contenders don't let their QBs transfer to the Big 10

Have you ever been to Oklahoma? I admit that Louisiana is a bit of a shitehole, but at least we have some unique/redeeming qualities to speak of…
I imagine recruiting at OU is at least as tough as recruiting at Arkansas. And I would give Arkansas better odds at winning a conference championship in the future than OU.
They’re 100% the new Nebraska. And they have been for a while — they got exposed every post-season before the conference move.

I came away from that game thinking OM is awful. Oklahoma kept it much closer than anyone thought they would

No, OU will not be fine. It's the NIL thing. With the bag drop game being ineffective now for 95% of recruits, OU will not be able to hang with schools that have willing and many Big Cigar donors. In fact the Big Cigar guys are the reason we're seeing Arnold Jackson today, they want to see some ROI.
OU will still recruit in Texas, more precisely the DFW area. Other than DFW, OU will fade with national reach on stud recruits.
Other SEC schools have the bag drop obsolete problem similar to OU, Bama is going to be a big crash and burn with respect to NIL. Sure, they'll get many stud recruits, but not enough to field an entire team like they have during the Saban era.
