Kelly showed the world you can take a roster of 39, get 60+ transfers and win the SEC. So long as one of those transfers is a Heisman tho. Better odds on hitting on the lottery when you buy more tickets.

Taking this long to get in portal guess they're not very good Sooners.

WRs out hurt you take the top 5 WRs off any team and play 5 of top 10 SEC defenses and tell me how your one dimensional offense does.

What you just described was pretty close to UGA in 2021. George Pickens and Kearis Jackson were UGA's top 2 returning WRs. Both started the season injured and played limited minutes the whole year. Darnell Washington was UGA's 5th best receiver the prior year (and top TE) and he was hurt for much of the season. Demetrius Robinson transferred. The only proven WR we had returning was Jermaine Burton.

UGA had to rely on a 4-star TE and 2 3-star WR's to carry them... all freshmen.

But those guys were Brock Bowers, AD Mitchell and Ladd McConkey... so it turned out pretty well.

Depth fixes all issues. Hell we even lost our 5-star starting QB early in the year (JT Daniels). We put in a 2-star former walk-on instead... Stetson Bennett. It worked out.

....because of injuries.

Dude, Farooq is a player no one would want to lose.

I think reality is starting to hit the okies. Norman was an attractive place to be when they were one of the few programs with institutionalized cheating and were paying players. Now that everyone can pay players, the small number of donors you do have are frustrated with BV. Also, you have to overpay to get players, because why would someone play for the same money in a craphole like Norman when they can have full pockets in a real city?

Overpaying players is your entire strategy right now in recruiting AND the portal. Your entire program is propped up by overpaid players. That's why your donors are pushing so hard to get Ewers out for Manning because of what they're paying him to sit on the bench.

As far as your stupidity regarding "a real city", recruits aren't tourists.

If 9 wins potentially is "into the ground" for LSU that is damn good and I'll take it lol

OU is closer to Nebraska than UGA and they are in denial

They also ran the B12 in recruiting and they are currently 10th……in the SEC

OU is 10th in the SEC because OU only took 18 recruits in the 2025 class.

OU's current roster is dominantly freshman and sophomores.

OU doesn't need more HS kids who are a year or two away from contributing.

OU needs guys who can contribute right now, hence only 18 commits in the 2025 class, and the focus on the portal.

Nice narrative.

Tell the whole story, fruitcake.

Four days into this wild first week of transfer activity, these programs have had the most scholarship players enter the portal:

Power 4

26: Arizona
24: Arkansas, Mississippi State
21: Kentucky
20: Purdue
19: Oklahoma, Texas A&M
18: Utah

Which rosters have taken the most damage this week? Here are three that stand out:

Arizona:

Oklahoma: The Sooners are staring down a comprehensive offensive rebuild ahead of a critical fourth season for coach Brent Venables this fall. Former five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold officially landed in the portal earlier this week and a mass exodus by Oklahoma wide receivers followed soon after. The team is down six receivers with the departures of Nic Anderson, Jalil Farooq, Andrel Anthony, Brenen Thompson, J.J. Hester, Jaquaize Pettaway in Week 1. The career stats of those receivers: 245 receptions, 4,059 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. The exit of tight end Bauer Sharp, who led the Sooners in receptions and receiving yards, marks another blow, and quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg, running backs Kalib Hicks and Emeka Megwa and offensive linemen Joshua Bates and Geirean Hatchett round out a total of 13 departures to date from a unit that closed the regular season ranked No. 121 nationally in total offense (322.5 yards per game).

Arkansas: Coach Sam Pittman finds himself in a similar position, with plenty of reloading to do in this next portal cycle following the Razorbacks' 6-6 season. Eight starters on their end-of-season depth chart are currently available in the portal, including a trio of offensive linemen (Patrick Kutas, Joshua Braun and Addison Nichols), receiver Isaiah Sategna, tight end Luke Hasz, defensive end Nico Davillier, linebacker Brad Spence and safety TJ Metcalf. Pittman has acknowledged it's a frustrating situation to be in but insists the attrition isn't due to any lack of money. He's optimistic Arkansas can win battles for a lot of SEC-caliber talent to fill those spots, but it won't be cheap.

Oh my bad. Let me just sort by avg player ratings that doesn’t count numbers, and you’re 9th. Congrats.

It’s amazing OU fans defend Venables like he’s Saban

Honest question, do you think he’s a top 10 SEC coach? Most don’t

In Arkansas' case, they are losing 8-9 starters combined offense and defense off a team with a two year record of 10-14. The others are walk-ons, no star and two star deep snappers and kickers.

If the best you can muster is 10 wins over two seasons, you have to ask who is really benefitting from those leaving?

Oh noez! We're 2.77 points off the lead for the 2025 class!
