t doesn't directly, but Georgia fans are out in front clowning on us as if you're an Alabama or an LSU or an Arkansas or one of those other teams that got the job done where you failed. I'm just reminding you that of all fanbases who can talk down to us, you're not among them.

Plus wouldn't you have another national championship if you hadn't lost to us in a game that matters, in Texas? What time is it? It's 10 to 9.

Anyone in this conference not named Arkansas should lay off this kind of talk.

We are back to back national champions. You can’t even win the big 12 conference. Of course we can clown on your silly asses.

Congrats Chokelahoma and Texas on coming to the SEC early, and condolences on not making the playoffs until maybe the expansion in a few years.

We join when the playoff expands, so.....

It isn't correct. The original penalty was $80M per school even if we stayed through 2025. $50M per school and leaving a year early is a better deal.

I did not realize that. Thanks for clearing that up.

It is sweet, sweet irony to me that Texas and its greed destroyed Mizzou's 100+ year-old conference, and now here they come crawling to the SEC, where they will be an equal revenue-sharing partner to Mizzou, and will therefore help fund our athletic programs.

Not really ironic. We've been bankrolling the Big 12 for 25 years now.

Big 8 was fine without the SWC but here we all are regardless. Welcome to the party.

No it wasn't. The Big 8 was a regional conference with nowhere near enough TV sets to compete in the new marketplace, just as the SWC was.

Just a random OU fans thoughts on the move.

We are tired of getting embarrassed on the national stage. We have been good enough to win the big 12 year after year, but really only once in the past decade did we have a team that could have won it all (2017). So would we have made the playoff that year even in the SEC? I'd like to say yes. But do we make it in a year like 2019? Hell no. However we also don't get embarrassed on national TV, and instead maybe end the season on a high note in some random New Year's Day bowl game. I know some fanbases say "I'd rather get curb stomped in the playoff then not make it at all", but I will tell you it's not all it's hyped up to be. Because that's all people remember from your season ten years down the road.

And I think OU is confident in our ability to make the playoffs every so often once it expands to 12, assuming the sec gets 3-4 teams in regularly. Im sure most SEC fans feel that way, and have a reason too. And in the long run, making the playoffs is what matters now.

The schools don't have to pay the penalty they just forego their remaining Big 12 payout I believe.
