I don’t think either would be favored against Texas today, but even if you’re right what you’re saying is that Texas would be the 5th best team in a 16 team league. Yet the Texas is in for a rude awakening in the SEC?
The SEC is a top heavy conference. Texas will be competitive from day 1. Anyone that’s not an Alabama or Georgia fan that thinks Texas is going to be a doormat is living vicariously through the success of a couple of good teams. We’ll beat the shite out of almost anyone else. We’ll win most of the time against LSU and Tennessee. And Texas (who already recruits lights out) will keep players in state that used to go to the alabamas and georgias of the world. We’re not afraid. Bring on the mouth breathers

I think a lot non-Texas fans may not realize how much better Texas has been recruiting in the trenches these past two years. You can have a high ranked recruiting class but if most of the stud players are not trench guys the ranking doesn't matter.

You’re a mid tier Big 12 team, why would you elevate once you join the SEC? You’ve had the players for the last 15 years, yet you can’t win shite.
You are the delusional one.

That whipped your bitch asses the last time they met on the field. Anyone in this conference not named Arkansas should lay off this kind of talk.

I’m afraid your school is completely incapable of being a good faith member of a sustainable and healthy conference because your entire history indicates you aren’t.

Bring that legendary Big 12 tackling over here. The players are shaking in their cleats.

Consider us flattered

If they are really trying to do the new scheduling, after the must keep rivalry games, based on equity of the traditionally better teams it looks like Oklahoma and Florida could be made permanent opponents.

Your 3-5 against the SEC over the last 10 years. Losses coming to Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss. Seems like you lose to top and bottom of the pack.

Yes, 3-5 during probably the worst 10 year stretch in the history of the program, and only one of those teams can say they thoroughly kicked our arse.
All that aggy bullshite y'all've been swallowing whole the last decade has rotted your brains. XWing is right. Anyone who thinks we (or OU for that matter) are gonna be a doormat in this conference is living in fantasy land.

As I understand it, if you stayed through the 2024-25 academic year you could leave the B12 without any obligations. Is that correct??
If so, $100M seems like a steep price to pay to exit one year earlier.
I am sure Tx and Ok had good counsel regarding this matter. I would like to be able to understand the numbers better.

How does any of this apply to

Congrats Chokelahoma and Texas on coming to the SEC early, and condolences on not making the playoffs until maybe the expansion in a few years.

It doesn't directly, but Georgia fans are out in front clowning on us as if you're an Alabama or an LSU or an Arkansas or one of those other teams that got the job done where you failed. I'm just reminding you that of all fanbases who can talk down to us, you're not among them.

It isn't correct. The original penalty was $80M per school even if we stayed through 2025. $50M per school and leaving a year early is a better deal.

Yeah we can and will talk down to you. You keep living vicariously through that meaningless game and we will keep adding shelves to our trophy case. But luckily you can show us how tough you are in a couple years.
You better keep "trench recruiting" cause your toughest road game won't be in front of 52,000 in Ames,Iowa any longer tough guy.
