Sweeping Oklahoma was huge for NCAAT hopes for the Cats. Would be awesome if they can snag 1 or 2 from Vandy this weekend to get to/over 14 wins, but that's an uphill battle.

Two things I would love to see:

Tennessee fall to a 2 seed.
Aggies not even make the tournament.

No way 6/8 are SEC sites.

Also, LSU at 6?

Big weekend ahead at the Pig Pen.

If Arkansas loses, they lose their National Seed. If Tennessee loses, they lose their Regional host.

UGA has been good at home but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if A&M pulls a rabbit out of their hat with a sweep and lands a NCAAT bid.

Kudos to Auburn, they’ve had a hell of a year after being ranked #12 in the SEC Preseason Coaches Poll.

If the Gator win the series against the Tide this weekend, That could change.

Call me uninformed here but why would AU be the #2 but UGA #5?

We have a better overall record, same SEC record, we swept them in the H2H, and we have the #1 RPI.

I think Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Arkansas are basically interchangeable at this point. With Vanderbilt not far behind and you can almost include them in there.

State should lock up an NCAAT bid if they win two at Mizzou. They were dead in the water until the coaching change and 5-1 in the last two weeks totally changed the conversation.

I don’t know about that. A sweep either way would move the needle. But you’re assuming all the other teams around these teams have good weekends. The RPIs won’t change that much. A 19 win sec team with at top 8 RPI has a decent shot at a national seed.

You make a good point, but Auburn has a good resume too.

Up to #2 in the top 25. #2 RPI. #1 SOS. Already at 16 SEC wins (T4 in the standings) with another series + Hoover to play. Their only series losses are on the road to top 10 teams, Texas & UGA.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Top 8 teams this year are going to be mostly interchangeable with ranking meaning little. Theres not a clear delineation between the best teams this year as there usually is.

Excluding the rankings (which don’t ultimately matter) UGA is #1 RPI and #5 SOS with the same SEC record as Auburn. A lot of teams are virtually identical this year

I don’t know about that.

It’s just hard to believe Arkansas can hold onto a national seed after losing 5 of their last 6 series.

The strength of the SEC and other teams’ results will obviously factor in, but that would be pretty tough if they lose the final series at home.

As much as the SEC probably deserves to have 6 national seeds, I’ll believe it when I see it.

I think they’ll have to win the series to have a chance.

If they can sweep and finish 13-17 with a win or 2 in the SECT, I agree.

If they go 2-1 and finish 12-18, they’ll need to make a run in the SECT.

If they don’t win, I think they’ll have to win the SECT to make the NCAAT.

A&M won't even make the tournament. All they had to do was just win against what should have been the worst Missouri team in history.

State has talent. Would suck to have them as the 3 if you are a 2 that was on the hosting fence.
